I have very little idea what the hell is going on. Feels a bit like someone's (I have no idea whose) psychotic fever dream.

Still kind of upsets me that this was made using RenderWare. Really detracts from an otherwise very interesting visual style.
Nice pierrot, did you finish it?
I'm enjoying TR as well and it made my Summer Challenge lags behind a bit but not at all for sure, i recently beat MAFIA (PC) and it ranks as one of my top 10 games of all time now.I somehow misplaced the game as a cheap GTA clone and never gave it very much attention and i'm glad that i give it a shot.

Beat level 6 of Panzer Dragoon Zwei. Still pretty bad at the game, but fortunately the levels are short so it’s not too big a deal to have to play them over from the start. I’m at the final boss now which I imagine will take me quite a few tries.

I also had the chance to start Startropics last night. Liking it so far. I beat the first level (tunnel from the village). I died once but it was only because I was testing to see if the game kills you for jumping in the water; it does. Does this game have unlimited continues? I assume it does since it saved but if not I’ll probably regret wasting that life.

The game has unlimited continues.

It also has some proper troll moments where you have to jump across the screen transition gap but there's no block on the other side so you instantly die without being able to react, which is fun.

Thankfully, those spots are limited. For the most part, the game is tough but fair. Relatively speaking, of course; it is still an NES game!

Also, there's a patch out there that actually removes the movement lag. After playing it for so many years with it in place, playing it any other way feels really weird.

Not the whole game, just the first case, out of some number of them (I'm going to guess about 7).

I haven't gotten back to Resident Evil quite yet (tomorrow though!) but I did spend today setting up everything on my new GBA EverDrive - including English patched roms of Mother 3 and Fire Emblem: Fuuin No Tsurugi, ready for my summer list.

This weekend it's Time for Craaaaazy Taxi and I plan to start up something else too (My fiancee wants to watch me play Resi) so I was thinking perhaps Jet Set Radio Future.

I finished Case 01 in Killer 7. It felt extraordinarily long, and the boss at the end was just one of the most dull and inconsequential things I've ever seen in a game. I can't say that I'm enjoying the story, either. I'm probably going to push through it anyway, though. I had a roommate in college who really liked this game, so I'm kind of trying to give him the benefit of the doubt right now. I don't necessarily hate the gameplay, but it feels kind of repetitive, and is not really livened up by the different types of enemies.

Kind of surprising to me that there are plans to rerelease this on PC later this year.

I beat Panzer Dragoon Zwei! I had trouble with the last boss until I stopped using the homing attack entirely. I beat the boss in my first try of not using the homing attack, with full health. I wonder if the whole game would have been easier if I had relied on it less.

Very fun. I wish I hadn’t lended my copy of Orta out because I’m itching to play it now, but on the other hand, I do have four more games to beat.

A lot of folks who play the Panzer Dragoon games underestimate the power of the rapid fire pistol. Lock-ons are great when you have lots of targets, but when you're hitting a boss and just want to lay on the damage, put that Saturn pad on your lap and tap both the fire buttons as fast as you can. Also, since you can shoot down many kinds of enemy projectiles, having a constant stream of pistol fire in the air can serve a defensive purpose.

They toned down how fast you can shoot in Zwei, but in the original I always play with a finger on each of the A,B and C buttons and spam all of them - each button shoots and there's no limit to how fast you can go.
