I’m not against digital (in fact I’ve spent way too much because of how easy it is to get a game during a sale), but I don’t like physical games with downloads. It’s the worst of both worlds.

To a point, I would still tend to expect a physical game to have downloads in form of patches. However, generally, yeah, this. If I'm buying a physical game, then I'd really prefer it to be self-contained on that media, even if it's a buggier version. Same as stuff like GoTY editions with DLC or bonuses as download vouchers versus on-disc. I buy games digitally as well, but if that's what I was after, I would have just bought it that way.

Switch games seem to be doing it to save costs on the cards and/or to work around the 32GB ones not being available yet. So, it may end up being an early trend for the system that goes away.

32gb cards are available. They're just expensive for developers. It's the 64gb cards that were delayed until 2019.

Based on the file sizes it seems like both legacy collection 1 and 2 could fit on a 4GB cartridge. I believe I’ve read the cost of a 4GB is comparable to an Xbox One/PS4 disc so it seems like Capcom isn’t just not wanting to pay more, they’re actually paying less than discs. Irks me

And if it costs more than I’d honestly rather they just charge more for the Switch version and put it all on the cartridge (as other developers have done).

I agree with you though; I was just saying what I would like. It seems like a stretch for limited run to do any of these on Switch since they technically already have physical versions but that would be nice.

Wait, has it been confirmed anywhere that Wolfenstein 2 contains a mandatory download or are you just speculating? I'm pretty sure there's been nothing said about there being only part of the game on the cartridge.

Also, just to be that argumentative guy, I'm really looking forward to you announcing you refuse to buy games full stop when the only games that exist are digital.

The box art does as you said with your edit, and if you figure the max card out there is 32GB and the size the game fits on other media it won't fit probably or they just don't want to fit into a 32GB space. The other versions have support for higher resolutions and bigger textures yet Switch can't handle so that bulkier data isn't needed.

I'm set in my way, so be it, so why waste your time? I've also said below I'm fine with cheap digital, and digital that allows a hard backup (GoG) I fully support. It's the closed up stuff I do not. And in the case of Capcom here, I clearly am not alone in this thread let alone elsewhere with people pissed at buying half a physical game and having to download the rest just to get it. Just release it on the right sized card or make it a download only, half way stuff is just half assed.

I'm not saying I won't buy the Capcom games, I just won't buy them on Switch. Steam is fine by me if I want to play them, and I get the entire game in one place, plus the PC will last longer (with continued support from Steam) than a closed console or handheld anyway. MMLegacy Collection 1+2 given the sizes of the games would fit into a 4GB space easily enough, and currently the pricing value is that an 8GB Switch game compares to a PS4 disc. So what's the excuse there? I get it with Res Evil Revelations 1+2 far more as it's a big one.

Is there some reason you feel the need to bring up the fact that you won't buy digital whenever it comes up? I would think you would get bored of it given how few people here seem to agree with your general stance. Don't point to one instance of people agreeing with you as overall alignment with your views. The fact that you keep getting blasted when you post it would make most people realize they are very much in the minority, unwelcome opinion.

Not a bad list, some I had considered originally. Ikaruga I have on the Cube so that's out. Redout I'm bored of waiting on much like how I gave up on Battlechasers. Code of Princess I'm not sold on having the 3DS game. Octopath looks too convoluted with Square going too far into Job hell where you have to grind hellish hours on certain skills or you just auto fail boss fights which seems to be their brainless thing to do to sell strategy guides for years now. Street Fighter is a maybe but I have the other on Switch already. Captain Toad I may grab that. Smash Bros I won't touch as it's a boring ass played out game unless you just like to play online. Wolfenstein 2 I'll get on Steam as I refuse to buy partial games with the rest as a download (which kills res evil revelations, mmlegacy collection etc,) SNK 40th I might grab need to know more. The rest are of no interest.

Square is not directly developing Octo. Aquire is. There is a free demo. Battle are fairly brisk,even boss battles take up 5 min at most. I didn't have to grind at all. Primrose story is pretty mature.
