KOTOR runs awesome on Xbox. I also heard the interface is pretty bad on the PC port.
KOTOR2 on the other hand... It runs pretty shitty on Xbox, but I'm not even sure if that was ported to PC.

Yeah, I don't see what was wrong with the PC interface. Now, you want to talk about a game that had a horrible interface, let's talk DX:IW. Take a console interface. Now put that on a PC. You get a nice shiny mouse cursor, but all it acts is a shortcut to using the arrows to go to a menu item. You want to swap items? You would think you can drag and drop, but no. Press Enter on the first item, move to the second and hit Enter again.

Shadowrun. Mirrors Edge. Far Cry 2. All have horrible interfaces. DX:IW was really bad though. OH it was...MrPopo wrote:Yeah, I don't see what was wrong with the PC interface. Re: XBOX vs. PC Version of Games
I think that it all just boils down to how you want to play the games. I have played most of those on both PC and XBOX and when you put aside the ability to mod them on the PC its just a matter of difference in both the resolution and control scheme.
I think all of them looked and played great on the XBOX. Now that aside, most of those should play pretty well on a stock PC maybe even with integrated graphics. So if you buy something else that isn't a gaming PC, maybe you can just wait and see how they work.

I think it really boils down to personal preference. To be honest, you'll never really notice much difference in graphics unless you go looking for them as long as you have a decent PC with all the stuff turned on/up. It really comes down to how you wish to interact with your game. I have always been a console gamer. Always have been. Always will be. As such, I love interacting with my games with a controller, and kicking back on my couch, playing on a TV. I do not like sitting in a chair with a keyboard and mouse playing on a smaller monitor than my TV. This is just my preference, though. Yours could be, and probably is, very different. So, the real question you have to ask yourself, is which one of those sounds more appealing to you? There is your answer of what you should get.

Yes they play fine on most intergrated graphics. I played Jedi Outcast and Morrowind on a gma900, and thats trash. If you want a list of games that play well on intergrated graphics you cant do better than the folks on EEEuser:

Granted I just built an atom based desktop yesterday so I will have a topic about this soon...
But since I am getting a bit off topic. I had the option to buy either a 360 or xbox not terribly long ago, and for the price of a 360 I got my xbox, Steel Battalion, six controllers and 16 games. I have not regreted my purchase.

Re: XBOX vs. PC Version of Games
Thanks guys. While there were arguments for both sides, for me it seems that I can't lose by going with the console versions. I've played and beat all of the games mentioned (save for KOTOR, but that's a long story) and just want to play through them from time to time. Multiplayer and MOD's have never really been my favorite, although multiplayer is growing on me. I'm going to try and scrounge a few bucks to get an original xbox package, as I don't really want a 360, yet at least... Maybe when the 720 finally comes out, lol.

Id even suggest buying the games before the console - Gamestop is liquidating its original xbox titles and they are going quick. Outcast and Academy will be hardest for you to find out of your list. Also you can find some awesome deals on other titles (I got Shenmue 2 and Panzer Dragoon Orta for about $4 a pop at Gamestop a couple weeks ago). Good luck.

GameStop is also running a 25% off coupon campaign (that'll be 35% if you have an Edge card) on Xbox games if you're a newsletter subscriber, so definitely pick up as many games as you can right now.
