One of my categories is going to be "Older games, but not old enough for Ex to consider them retro".

That'd certainly make Noise's life easier that month.

Fan translations is my main pick, like AJ I think it's a good theme and could cover a variety of genres. I also think it'd be good to give some credit to guys who in the earlier days of the internet ROM culture dedicated a lot of time to making playable games the publishers saw fit not to export.

Yes. TR this year is awesome. My problem in previous years was that I had already played most of the games. Having the flexibility to pick something in a category has been much better for me, while still pushing me a bit outside my comfort zone.

I could always shrink the categories a bit if y'all want. Especially the ARPG one. I think beat-'em-ups may be sufficiently narrow, though, as it mostly encapsulates a specific period of time where they were popular.

I think it's fine as is. We're gonna end up with something good here. Just going forward, IMO future curators should think about adding a bit more qualifiers.

Oh man if beat 'em ups wins, I guess I'll be out of excuses for not beating God Hand yet.

Well as long as we don't hit pre-halo fps I might actually have a chance of playing this time around. :D
