MAME Cabinet progress
Re: MAME Cabinet progress
That's a perfect cabinet for a 2 player MAME setup. I'll be interested to see how the artwork turns out.
I've got a 4 player cab in my garage I eventually want to MAME, but not really too computer savy, so I'm not sure if I might just make it in a dedicated NBA JAM or WWF Wrestlefest or stick a 1xxx in one board in.

WWF Wrestlefest is a fantastic game!

It's defiantly fun and holds a lot of nostalgia for me, but I don't know if it's worth having in a dedicated cab. It's more or less a quarter eater and doesn't have great replay value because of it, but it sure would be fun with a couple of other people.Unleaded Logic wrote:WWF Wrestlefest is a fantastic game!
When I got my first cabinet I bought a few boards on ebay, TMNT being one of them. Well, with unlimited quarters it's really not that hard to beat, so i sold it. Sort of feel the same way about Wrestlefest, great for a multicade or MAME setup, but probably not worth a dedicated cab.

Yeah. I wouldn't do a dedicated cab for it. I'd really just go for the MAME. Since you already got the cab, your halfway there. If you need any help, feel free to ask me. I'll help any way I can.

Well, that project is down the line, gotta finish the basement first. So, plenty of time to do more research. Now that I'm done hijacking your thread, where's the pics of the new marquee? btw-did you end up using an i-pac or hack the controls yourself?

You've convinced me to add a cab project to my list of things to do when I move out of my one bedroom and get a house.

Looks good, nice and clean.
I've got one suggestion and it's a cheap and easy one. I'd put a bezel on that covers up the monitor sides so no one can see them.
Here's a how to on making a cheap one,

It's up to you, but I think it would really be a nice finishing touch.
