Thoughts on opening out of print sealed (recent) games?

I have been buying a lot of sealed games from last gen. I find that if you look hard enough they are usually not much more that a good used copy right now. Some times less! Why not? Anyways, these are games i played last gen and games i haven't but want to. Last gen i mostly bought used games, played them and then sold them. I fully intend to play most what im buying but man.. Today i got in one of those old Ratchet and Clank Collection + Dualshock 3 bundles (Kinda rough box but minty inside) and i couldn't open the game and play it like i've been waiting to. I needed a new back up controller, i really want to play all 3 remasters and at $60 CAD shipped it was the best deal for both in new condition i could find. But now that it's here i didnt just crack open the seal and play the game. Maybe tomorrow i will! lol. :/

These are not rare but it just feels kinda wrong for some reason. I opened a sealed RE6 the other day... but its RE6 and i have a bunch.. They are like $5 CAD and i forget why i have so many. heh

It depends on the game, but for something that recent and popular, I wouldn't worry about it. Play away.

(I have left one of my Limited Run games sealed, La-Mulana. But I have digital versions, so I can afford to do that.)

You can make an exception for retro games. Cart-only is acceptable, and you aren't a true fan of the NES (or any console) until you own a full licensed set. If you must "play" something just get a free digital Steam MMO or whatever.

It's essential to craft a giant wall of games in your house. Make sure you film yourself talking endlessly about your "latest pick-ups" and at least once every three to five days remind everyone how massive your collection is.

The severe headache, nausea, and smoke damage just proves your retro credibility. Plus after purchasing the complete Saturn library you won't be able to pay your gas bill, so it's practical too. This is good advice.
