That explains a lot!
I also bought a PS4 specifically for TLG, but I didn't make it far. I got the same result I got when trying to play ICO - "this is so difficult to control it's not fun" I'm sure it's great if I could get past the problems I had, but my limited time and backlog of games does not allow for a game to do what those games do... My niece gave it her best too, but neither of us could play it. Both of us loved the new SOTC and plan to replay again on hard difficulty to unlock more.

Try again. It's worth it :P

At first I did about 1 to 2 hours a day. I couldn't do more because of the controls. But the last session was much longer. Been a few days and i still think about my bird/cat/dogo/dragon friend hehe

Yes it has its frustrations, but dare I say that tank controls in survival horror games are awful. Doesn't make the games any less enjoyable. I appreciated The Last Guardian for what it's worth -- a solid platform/puzzle experience from a really great developer.

To be fair I understand why tank controls are a thing. To make the player feel more vulnerable in a horror game. To basically be the character in a horror film who falls down running away and doesn't get back up but crawls backward on their butt. You are meant to feel somewhat helpless. Not much of a threat if you can easily run away. They have since made games that convey the same feeling without tank controls. Been a while since I played SotC so very possible a similar thinking was put in place for that game.

That's why I give some grace to The Last Guardian and most of the Team ICO games. Trico is an animal that can be stubborn and at times unruly. Yorda becomes scared and overwhelmed. Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 was below 30 FPS a lot of the time. I think it's immersive to have some unresponsiveness, not unlike tank controls. Are there moments where this tips the scale? Yes. Does it make it an awful game? No. I really appreciate the art direction, sound effects, soundtrack, story, and any other element that makes me appreciate the medium.

^ I agree.

I think i am gonna buy ICO for PS3 and give it another go.

Also, i dont really care about FPS. I have a 1070 and 90% of the time i cap PC games to 30! :O. I dislike 60 very much. I was upset that the Uncharted remasters dont have a 30 FPS option like The Last Of Us :(. On the PC I did tests capping games to under 30 and i can even play at 22 once i get used to it! lol. I do prefer constant though. Drops can be jarring. They were noticeable in TLG but not TOO bad.
