Indigo Prophecy

Post by Anapan »

Has anyone here played this?
What's the gameplay like? Is it more survival horror or interactive novel?
(without spoilers) Is the ending really that bad - enough to spoil the rest of the game?
Any suggestions on which machine to play it on - does the PC version allow higher resolution and mouse play?

More like an interactive novel I'd say. The game controls are quite a bit different from anything else I've played, but the included tutorial really does help. The ability to take the story in various directions depending on the choices you make adds to the interest and replay value.

It's like a choose your own adventure novel with a lot of qte mixed in. The ending sucks pretty bad, but it doesn't start getting bad till the very end and it's pretty ignorable. It seems like the controls would probably be best on a console, I can't think of anything you'd gain by playing it on a pc.

Aww it's all Quick Time Events? I hate those. Guess I'll be looking for another game. I was hoping for something like Silent Hill.

Hgher resolutions and FSAA? :P Oh and some recommendations for Anapan: The Path, Darkness Within, Scratches, eXperiment (not a horror adventure but has some novelty value), the Penumbra games, Sanitarium (old but still great) and The Lost Crown. Stay away from Silent Hill Homecoming because Konami botched that one pretty badly.

This was one of the best games I've played in awhle. Yeah the ending was kinda odd, but that doesn't mean it was terrible. I thought the game was fantastic...

Indigo Prophecy is more of an interactive movie. The controls are somewhat different than those of a conventional game. I really love this game because of the story and uniqueness of it. You should definitely play it. It's worth it.

It's a great game definitely worth playing.

I would say the game is very similar to those choose your own adventure books (like others have mentioned previously). It's definitely worth playing through a few times doing things you wouldn't have done the first time through.

Its a ... different game. I finished it, the story is pretty interesting until the ending mucks it up.

I think the QTE system blows though. The problem is that while you are watching the screen for what direction to push, you often can't concentrate on the on-screen action. So essentially you miss alot of the cool animations and stuff. And its no challenge whatsoever either.

It probably would have been a better movie than game. (except the ending..)
