I need a 2.1 speaker setup with a wireless remote.

I dont need a 5.1 setup or anything like that. I have been through the whole running wires on the ceiling thing and I am not that picky when it comes to sound, so it does not seem worth it to me. Any ideas guys?

Re: I need a 2.1 speaker setup with a wireless remote.
Get a receiver, two speakers and a sub. Configure the receiver in 2.1.
My bedroom uses a Pioneer Elite VSX-52TX. It handles DTS and Dolby Digital and up to 5.1 and 2 remote channels.
But I usually run it in Stereo merely for the fact it is mostly for music, my two fronts are the most powerful, and it sounds far better in 2.1 then in surround mode. (actually you could call it 2.2, as there are two subs).
If you pick up a used nice receiver you can get them real cheap... and have superb sound quality. It'll be technology from a couple years ago... but so what. Audio really hasn't changed much between 2003 and 2009.

Buy used...
check out yard sales...
you should be able to get something relatively cheap.
My first system when I was in highschool I got was a 2 channel receiver and CD player from the late 70's early 80's with two tower speakers. The system sounded sweet and had that retro feel to it. It cost my like 50 bucks in 1998
I used it for years, here it is when I got my first place:

Then you can save up over time and upgrade slowly... that's what I did and now I have this:

I actually know a guy with a vintage 70's Marantz receiver and also a Yamaha pyramid. Sadly he knows what they are worth......
EDIT: I love the punched it speaker on the left side of your original set up.
