Here's about a hundred that I at least somewhat enjoyed at one point or another on numerous platforms. The first fifty or so were easy and it kinda went downhill from there. I could probably sit here all day and move titles up and down the list but I'm sticking with this one for now.
Looking at those lists of existing games makes me realize that I need to try out more games like Tomb Raider, Borderlands, Witcher, Sunset Overdrive, ReCore, Quantum Break, etc.

So we're comparing and ranking stuff as far apart as like Crimson Skies and Fuzion Frenzy against stuff like Player Unknown Battlegrounds and Monster Hunter World?
Like, basically, rank order everything that came out and can still be played on a MS system in the last 16 years? That's quite the undertaking! There are like 500 backwards compatible games 1500 XboxOne games. What if the best version of the game could be found on another platform (such as PC)?

I don't play a lot of MS compared to Sony and PC games, so there's a really weird selection of titles in my gaming history for Xbox systems. That said, here's what I've played through on the platform since I started keeping track in 2007. I don't know if they are all playable on Xbox One, sorry.
A top 10 from that list would probably be:

I feel like I can't really weigh in on this list using the "what if no other systems exist" question that you are asking since it is asking that I rank order 100 games out of probably 1000 or more that I would have played that are available on the platform and elsewhere.

I don't get why that's difficult... you know you like Borderlands 2 as a game right? So whether it's on Xbox or PC or PS3 or whatever, you like that game. I'm not asking which multiplatform games are best on Xbox or for exclusives only or anything. I'm asking for a list of your favorite games that are playable on Xbox One. My own list has games that were originally on Genesis or Saturn or Dreamcast; Elkin listed some 2600 games even. It's really just personal favorites - playable on this platform.
