Just beat Rez with high quality stereo speakers! Yayayayay!

Post by Original_Name »

Man, what an experience!!

Who else has beaten Rez? Any thoughts? I thought it was absolutely fantastic; shame it didn't get a proper (i.e. Dreamcast) release here in the States... seems like it might've been a bit rushed on account of the under-abundance of levels and lack of any real ending. Still, the final boss is absolutely awesome, even if it maybe steals a bit from a couple bosses from Treasure games. The visuals (dear god, the visuals!), the sound (dear god, the sound!), and the gameplay (Hm? Yeah, the gameplay!) come together to create one incredible experience! This and Cosmic Smash are probably what gamers dreamed about back in the days of Asteroids and Pong.

Now I gotta get back to beating Shenmue II... with high quality stereo speakers! Yayayayayay!

Rez is only truly experienced when your house is shaking along with it.

If you own a 360 the HD version made me fall in love with the game all over again. If you have a PS2, the Trance Vibrator accessory for Rez is a novel, but cool item for collection purposes. There is no other game quite like it.

Still yet to grab Rez HD, but I should have a spare $100 by the end of the week.

I love the last level of Rez, not so much the boss fight, but the rest is downright amazing. Plus it has a Dune reference with just makes me smile.

I need to put more time into Rez.
And I guess I should do it when the wife is away and I can blast the speakers :)

When Rez HD came out, I spent a good week playing nothing else. I'm sure my roommates were ready to kill me after hearing 5 techno songs on repeat, but it was totally worth it. It is still one of my favorite games ever; it's a game that proves that style and substance can co-exist. Congrats on beating the game! :)

This is one of those games that I desperately want to like, but for some unknown reason just can't get into it.

Maybe its because I never get through the first level..

Oh, wow! Hold the presses!

I actually didn't beat it until just now!!! I didn't realize I hadn't unlocked the fifth level. That had to be, in all honestly, the greatest level of any game I've ever played in my life. I didn't expect the game to ever be given a true, cohesive plot, but it delivered in spades. God, that was just the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Truly. I would go on, but I don't wanna give anything away.

So anyway, my list of all-time favorite games has been altered, to say the least.

Because it's hard or because you get bored? I think you need to give it more time. I'm not even really a big fan of shooting games (actually, I kinda am... I love them, I just can't get that into them because I'm horrible at them), but Rez is nearly the best game I've ever played.
