I'm trying to set up a Backloggery page for my collection. Mainly to keep track of it so when I buy a new game I add it to the list.
But do you guys think I should add my burnt Saturn, Dreamcast and PS1 games to the list... Just want some opinions here.

Re: Backups in Backloggery
I think the term "backup" is a misnomer if you have to ask.
Re: Backups in Backloggery
If you are worried about sullying your real collection, just make another account for your backups.
I added the burned copies of Dreamcast games I need to play to mine - the line is blurred there anyway.

Eh, i chose to only put the games i owned on there. Using only to make sure i actually start finishing some titles. had over 100 games that I never even played before I decided i needed to start selling stuff.
Re: Backups in Backloggery
I've personally stopped playing backups full time. If I like a game I just buy it. The only games I play that I don't own are things like the Mother 3 translation and the Shining Force III translation. I've decided not to list those, as they are a small number of titles and are not hard to keep track of.

Re: Backups in Backloggery
They have an option to list it as "other" instead of listing it as owned/borrowed/whatever. I'm pretty sure that option is basically there for people who want to list backups in the games that they want to play but still want to keep them separate from their actual collection.
It's really up to you. If you're using this to mainly track your collection, then you don't need to list them if you don't want to. On the other hand, if you don't give a rip about your collection of games or lack there of and just want to get a list of games you want to play through or have played though, then list whatever you want on there. It's all a matter of how you personally feel like using the site.
From a personal stand point, when I look at someone's else backloggery, I'm more interested in what they are currently playing, the games that they've beaten and the comments they have about those games. I like looking for people that have similar preferences to me and seeing what other types of games they have played; I don't care about the total collection someone has listed.

I own the Japanese versions of both of them (well, all three). In fact, the money for Mother 3 ostensibly went (in)directly to Nintendo.MrPopo wrote:The only games I play that I don't own are things like the Mother 3 translation and the Shining Force III translation.
