Help me with this arcade cabinet!!

Post by NathanBarnatt »

Can anyone show me where the actual PCB is? It's a Namco Super System 22 sit down racing game called Dirt Dash. It looks a little more complicated than a neo geo cabinet. Is it possible to switch the game with other namco or any brand racing games? I like the game but it'd be cool to switch it out.

No one!? This is driving me nuts. I found this.

I think that I could play Ride Racer or Rave Racer. They were on the slightly earlier System 22. But it seems like they still work since mine only has small graphic upgrades. But I really have no idea.

You should check ou killercabs or arcadeotaku, there's definitely more people there that would know about it.

Dedicated cab like that would lend itself to not have a JAMMA harness. KLOV says that it is, but I don't see evidence of the harness. If you want to play Rave Racer, you'll prolly have to yank the whole system 22, no easy board swap here. The hook-ups should be the same.

Your last picture sure looks like a board to me, but I don't see a harness either.

You might want to ask your question here,

A lot of pretty knowledgeable people there that have always helped me out. If you don't want to join I can ask the question for you, but if your gonna be buying arcade cabs it's a good place to be a member at.

It's very hard to tell from those photos. Any chance you've got a better camera?

System22 came in a silver box of sorts, much like most of the systems of that era:
http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=537

Attached is often a separate I/O board, which is easy to spot as it connects directly to your game controls and speaker. That should be the give away.

Usual warnings apply: don't touch the monitor or chassis (the board that drives the monitor). Both hold high voltage for quite some time, and will give you a painful (and possibly damaging if it throws you or your limbs) shock should you touch it.
