Karous Revisited
Karous Revisited
My first reaction to Karous was someone negative. So I decided since I'm in a calmer mood today I'd give it another shot before I decided to sell it. Before I post my feelings on it, has anyone else tried to revisit this game?
Re: Karous Revisited
I recently messed with it and I still do not like it. It's better than the Radiolgy, but still not my style. I'll stick with Ikaruga, Psyvariar and Under Defeat for my virt's.

Fun diversion, but not a favorite of mine. I own it on the Dreamcast and the Wii but I prefer Ikaruga and Shikigami 3 for my vert fix on those consoles.

I did exactly as you did.
I found that I don't hate it as much as my first impression. Still not saying I like it.

I respect Milestone for being creative with a cell-shaded art direction, but both Karous and Radiolgy have never really been too interesting to me. Between those two and Chaos Field the company is 0/3 in my book. Of course with new shmups being a rarity, I still find time to play all three games. Milestone has another shooter out for the Wii called Illvelo. It's Japanese only so far, but here's a video.

Well, I'm about to go against the grain and say that I absolutely LOVE this game. I play it A LOT.
I turn my stereo as loud as possible when I play it too, because IMO, this game has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard!
BUT I can definitely understand the dislike to this game.

My second attempt at the game was far more positive. Positive enough that i disagree with most of the negative reviews for the game. Even though it may seem drab after getting into the game the color scheme and the music set the tone for the game. After you begin to understand the system, the game seems quite deep and rather interesting. Particularly the idea of leveling up weapons/defense through use.
