Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi just joined the site because I really like the articles you guys put out. I'm from the USA. My collection includes snes, gb, ps2, 360, and pc. My favorite games series are GTA, Contra, Super Mario, CoD, Starcraft, Battelfield, AvP, and basically any game where kill zombies( zombies ate my neighbors ftw). I also am into rock music and I have a modest vinyl collection. Personally I think the 16 bit era is probably the best.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hello. I have been reading Racketboy's site for ages, and figured I might as well register for the forum.
I am a pretty old gamer being 30, and I have almost every system in existence minus the Jaguar and CD-I (for obvious reasons). I used to read Diehard Gamefan magazine all the time, and remember what I consider the golden age of games. I guess you could call me a "hardcore gamer", whatever that means today I dunno.
Right now I am stuck with too many games. Having all the new systems is great, but I spend most of my time playing my Nintendo Gamecube collection I have assembled over the years. Aside from that I spend most of my time playing the DS. Also a big fan of MAME right now, and am using MAME OS X, which is even better than the XBOX version I have been using up till a week ago. Anyway, glad to finally join up, and look forward to posting.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
I too have been perusing this site for about a year now. I'm more of a video game collector then a video game player. I first came into the game when I was 4 with my dad's 2600. Then when I was 7 I got my first NES and was pretty much a Nintendo kid since then.
I did skip the next next gen of the 64 and PSOne because of high school football and girls but then realized my mistake and came back into it right when PS2 and Gamecube was coming out so I took advantage of some really great deals. Since then I've collected every system by sight and have bought no systems over the internet. I enjoy the hunt to much.
Systems I own:
Atari 2600, Atari 1080xi, Atari Jaguar
Intellivison
Microsoft Xbox, 360
NEC Turbo Grafx 16
Nintendo NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii
Neo Geo CD
Panasonic 3DO
Sege Master, CD, Genesis, 32x, Saturn, Dreamcast
Sony Playstation 1, 2
Handhelds
Atari Lynx
Nintendo Gameboy, Pocket, Color, Virtual Boy, GBA, SP, Micro, DSi
Neo Geo Pocket
Nokia N-Gage QD
Sega Nomad
Sony PSP
Tiger Game.com
And that's all I have to say about that ... or can remember

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
This site is so ridiculously awesome. I've stumbled upon it before on the internets, but I didn't really know it was the host to such a large community. I, like many others, was one of those stupid kids that "grew up" and sold a majority of my old consoles and games. Now that I'm a bit older, I've been on a recent quest lately of buying all my old things back one at a time. It's going well so far, especially since my girlfriend bought me a SNES for Christmas with SFII Turbo (best girlfriend ever).
I also think this retro game challenge you guys do is really neat. It's funny because I just, within the past few days, had been playing my newly purchased copy of Kid Icarus and that seems to be one of the more recent challenges (that game totally pwns my face off, btw).

Matthew Doucette, from Canada, of Xona Games, an upstart video game "company" making an XBox 360 2D shooter. (The Xbox has opened for indie developers.) I came here almost specifically for your shmups forums, but this place seems cool and I'm sure I'll like the rest of it. Hoping to get some constructive feedback and share our game. I only just found out about racketboy forums today.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Welcome to the new guys. Shin, I envy your collection and will make sure to contact you for some gaming if I can ever make it up to Boston. Matthew, just wanted to take a moment and say that while I don't play many SHMUPS, I am enjoying the art style of yours.
