Hey guess what I just randomly found at Target?! A SNES Classic!

Without reading back through 50 pages: what can I do with this thing other than what it does right out of the box? Any cool accessories worth getting? Does it interact with Wii controllers or anything like that?

Well there is a newer development with Hakchi2 if you're willing to drop just a few dollars. You can get a USB bypass adapter (costs $5~) and it has a stock normal sized USB port off the side, rest of the body is just a USB pass through for the included cable with the console.

Throw as nice of a sized USB thumb drive you have on hand at it. Load up anything of personal value to you that isn't any more demanding than N64/PS1 level emulation goes on there. Run Hakchi2, set it to read from that thumb drive, and you don't have to worry about space constraints while more or less still leaving the base system as-is (other than the bypass) because it will fire up your entire multi-rom box straight from the memory stick.

That's the only really good development I know of, no more tiny internal storage shortcomings anymore so it's like its own Pi box for emulation and more depending what you'd want to do with it.

And yes you can use any wired Wii controllers you can find too. The SNES model also will use the home button on a Wii controller to bring you back to the game select menu instead of having to stand up and push the reset button.

What can I do without connecting/purchasing other parts?

What about using the controllers wirelessly...is that as easy as sticking them in a Wiimote?l

get the 8bitdo SNES wireless controllers for them, they are nice

This one specifically for the SNES Classic

I have this for general use, and have adapter for my real SNES and NES and use it on there as well:

Based on the NES and SNES Classic gamepads are compatible with the Wii, should be possible to use a wireless Classic if it has a separate receiver connector that would plug into the Wiimote as jmustang linked out above. I have seen a 3rd party wireless nunchuck with receiver, but only two buttons.

For a wired Arcade Stick the EMIO SNES Advantage a great option that fastbilly pointed out. Also comes with a USB adapter, currently my primary Arcade Stick for the PC.

You can still run Hakchi2. It will back up the Nintendo supplied kernel/game install to your PC. Just plug it into the USB port on your computer, run the tools, have it put what you want on there for free but it does have a smaller hard size limit.

Wireless controllers, unless you already have a wireless game pad for the Wii you can already use no, you'll have to purchase parts or whole controllers made by third parties for the device. If you have an 8bitdo controller already then just buy the wireless adapter which was already written.

Patience has paid off. After being in the local Target and Walmarts, I have found a SNES Classic at ...... GS of all places. I asked when I picked it up, and they told me there was one at the other Hanover store, 4 total at the 3 York stores, and I believe 3 at the store in the Gettysburg Outlets. Slowly but surely they are becoming available.

I just completely, unnecessarily purchased one of these. The humanity.

Well, at least I have a legit way to play Star Fox 2!

Anybody else seeing the in the wild more?

I pre-ordered the Analogue Super NT, but I still want to pick up one of these to share with the kids in the living room.

This is actually the first time I have seen one in the wild. Walked into the GameStop, it was sitting out on the counter. They came in yesterday (not sure how many), and it was the last one they had.
