Contra videos!

Post by Mr.White555 »

One day I was playing Contra 3, and wanted to listen to something that fit the games intensity. Personally speaking, Contra 3's music is kinda boring(Level 3's music is cool). So I tried most out most of the metal albums I had. Metallica's Ride the Lightning seemed to fit the bill. So my friend and me decided to make a video with the songs dubbed over. The weird thing is that it syncs at certain parts. Forgive the bad video quality, we didn't have a good camera or one of those recording cables. Also the frame rate acts weird. We made videos for the levels 1,3,4,6. These two are the best.

Love it.

When I was younger I would mix music to video games using a VCR all the time. In particular I had fun doing this with Panzer Dragoon + The Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack.

Did the same thing all throughout my childhood. One summer I spent every night on PSO on Dreamcast through a 56k line running up the stairs to my room, listening to tons of trance and anything else I had that sounded colorful and energetic. Even though PSO's music was great, put in 100 hours and you cant stand it anymore. I remember playing a ton of Megaman with heavy music too. Smash Bros Melee too. I had a receiver that could mix two sources together, so I'd mute the music in Melee, and play mp3s off the PC. My friends loved it. None of my cheapo receivers ever since can do that.

A little off topic, but has anyone seen the Guitar Hero Metallica commercial? Where they tie up those guys to trees? If you have, let me just say that it's nice to see Metallica not acting like pansies anymore. I've been listening to Death Magnetic lately. It's not all that bad. If nothing else, it's good to see them genuinely trying to get back in touch with their roots.

I got a new video, this time one hard mode. I was having the game of a life time; only died 2-3 times and was one my first continue with dual crush guns at the begging of level 6. The boss with the skeleton faces was a bitch but I still managed to get to the brain. This was the result with 4 lives left. Damn blue orbs...

So I load up the video, then prepare to bitch you out for referring to AC/DC as Metallica. Then I see that the original videos were Metallica, and this time you went with a superior band for your music.

Im not sure that AC/DC is necessarily superior to Metallica. Honestly I think metallica fits contra more. O and I do have video with King Crimson but its not that good; besides some sync-age in the brain boss.
