What was the last movie you've seen?

Moana is modern Disney in peak form. I feel like it harkens back to the 90s.

Currently watching The Star Wars Holiday Special. Just finished the Bea Arthur number.
They must have been on some really good shit when they made this!

Good. Great, really. But just not worth seeing again for a while. A great rental, at best.
Also, doesn't John Carpenter's character totally look like a weird mix of John Waters and Angie from Orange is the New Black (the brunette meth-head)?

A perfect metaphor for Trump's America.

On Christmas day my Mom, brother, and I piled up in the car to see Star Wars: the Last Jedi.
Certain plot threads really worked for me. Others needed another rewrite or three. Without any spoilers, the characters would do certain things to build tension and move the plot along, but if you sat back and thought about what they were doing you'd suspect it didn't make a lot of sense. However, SW:TLJ does a better job of being a Star Wars movie than all of the prequels put together. It will never make as big of a splash as the original trilogy did in the 70's and 80's, but it's a nice sequel.

Last Jedi was far better even than I expected, and I had hopes. 3rd best Star Wars film to date. Excellent and artful way to handle a lot of what they did.

I agree. I really liked it. I was very worried that, since Disney acquired the rights to the franchise, the series would become formulaic and predictable. The Last Jedi dispelled my fears for the Time being.

It had the opposite effect on me, I'm bowing out in regards to future visits to the theater for Star Wars films.

I'm surprised with the ages here that we're in the minority. I guess you just simply either love it or hate it. I've argued around about it and have yet to see good counters to my points. People love "Reylo" and I guess that's all they need. I hate them. And the non-Harrison Ford Han Solo spinoff is going to save the series next year right? lmfao... toy sales are plummeting too and then we have EA who's sabotaged the games. Star Wars has no future after all this.
It's better than Star Trek Into Darkness, at least... so it's higher on the poop scale.

What planet do you live on? The Last Jedi has just about passed $1b at the Box Office and is likely on track to become the all time highest grossing film in the series, if not of all time (https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmende ... ca63bc77e2). You sound like a confused old codger.
