That's not the battle system. Blades are basically a persona you can get and pick and choose the ones you want to use in battle. Aside from the story ones the rest are optional. I just want Kos Mos.

Yeah, I realised after I didn't mean the battle mechanics per say, because let's be honest, the battle system is simple as it's automated, but just the micromanagement aspect of the game.

I just don't think Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is for me, that's all. I couldn't get into the first game or X.

Do eShop games come with instructions? I know this will sound ridiculously stupid, but I convinced my wife we need to buy Stardew Valley, but I have no idea what I'm doing or what the controls are. Yeah, I have a vague idea, but I have not properly played a Harvest Moon type game since Harvest Moon 64 nearly a decade ago.

I'll check out some beginner guides and tips online, but yeah, a manual would be useful.

Stardew Valley is spectacular!!! I put more time into that then I did Breath of the Wild. For whatever reasons, the controls don't show up in the game unless you load your game. Odd, I know. As for tips on how to play, the rules are simple, don't read tips on how to play. Most of them are from the insanely hardcore crowd that spends endless hours finding the most efficient way to play. Don't follow that. The end game scenario happens at the end year two and grades you on your performance. If you fail it, it can be tested again at any time and there is no real downside to failing.

Just let things happen naturally and you will enjoy the game a lot more. I didn't refer to a guide and was able to succeed with me skipping the entire winter of the second year and I did pretty much everything you could to that point. Enjoy and if you have any questions just ask!And

Haha yeah I saw you've put in loads of hours into it (every time you pop up online it says you're playing it). It looks really good, but for some reason, it's the most open and relaxing games that I find the most daunting sometimes. For some reason, the whole calendar schedules in games like this stress me out more than they should. Once I get into it though I'm sure I'll get engrossed.

Thanks for the tips. Sounds perfect! I'll stay away from those guides then, figure out the controls and see where the game takes me :)

Yeah the best thing to do as a player is to learn what you can do and then, each day, give yourself a goal like, "I'm going to make it 5 levels down the mine," or, "I'm focusing on relationships today." The game will give you enough goals to keep you occupied and focused so it will never be a big issue. By the point that the game opens up a bunch, you will be very prepared. I am with you on the ticking clock aspect adding anxiety, but after a bit of play, it was smooth sailing and very chill.

This pro controller seems just as awesome and long lasting as the Wii U one. Can't even remember the last time I had it actually plugged in.

Xenoblade 2 - Are all the Common Core Crystal's just these boring looking blue Zora-like Blades? What exactly are the booster things for?

It actually doesn't seem to last as long as the Wii U Pro controller. The Wii U Pro Controller laster about 80 hours between charges, whilst the Switch Pro Controller I'd estimate lasts around 50 hours. I might be a bit off, as I'm just guessing, but I definitely have to charge it more than I did when I was playing the Wii U (but still not often).

I'm just being pedantic though really, as it's still awesome compared to most wireless controllers (*cough* dualshock 4 *cough*).

There are three main types of cores: common, rare, and legendary. You can get rare blades from any of those three. Common just have the lowest chance at a rare blade. Boosters are consumables that increase your chances of getting blades of a certain element.
