So wow, the Switch dock has a USB 3.0 port in the back. I got the Wii LAN adapter back when, and moved it up to my Wii U when I got one. I was planning on using the same LAN adapter on the Switch, but I just found out it supports Gigabit over USB 3.0, so that's nice.

So when using a wired internet connection for the dock, will it automatically switch between wired/wireless when you dock/undock the Switch?

Talk about hitting an annoying wall about ~5 hours into Xenoblade 2. I need to buy the Bion Connectors. Took awhile and had to sell stuff I didn't really want to sell to get just one... now I need another and have zip. All the active quests I have are weird ones scattered throughout this giant area. Roaming the field isn't very fun with just Rex. Already seeing the issues with stupid flying aggro enemies that will one shot you out of nowhere. Still can't even figure out how to really run from battles or change targets. It's even a task finding the inn among the dozens of vendors. The map system sucks too. I guess it was worse before the recent patch, but it's still bad. I just want a traditional map page somewhere in the menu that I can look at. The compass is really bad too. This is all pretty frustrating.

What the hell are you supposed to do at this part? Grind for hours?

I've seen that some people can finish this at 60 hours. I'm not into these boring fetch quests on the side and really disliking how most of them so far have multiple steps. The first Xenoblade got way more fun when I started flat out ignoring the side quests and it was doable. I hope the same with this one, but seeing that there's game mechanic rewards... I don't want to miss out on that stuff either.

You can salvage for the Bion Connectors in Torigoth. I'd recommend that over buying them.

I believe the quest tells you to do that, actually. The big money part is a quest reward. The intent doesn't seem to be that you grind gold to buy them.

Well the subtitle for this game is INFORMATION OVERLOAD. I glossed over that, I'm sure I'm not the only one. But yeah I got the others instantly by salvaging, good tip. Back to having fun.

Really dig the stuff with Poppi.

I think I already like the combat and systems in this more than the first game. With the whole Driver thing and them having different sets of attacks, it'll probably keep the gameplay more interesting for the whole ride. In the first game I would get bored after awhile and then main different characters for a bit to keep it fresh. The variety of options seems a lot better in this one gameplay wise.

Salvaging is your friend. I have 2.3 million gold and I spend gold quite liberally. Just doing salvaging, Merc missions help a lot more than killing things or side quests.

Just hit chapter 3. Loving this game. Probably going to have to knock something off my top 10 this year for it.

So is this like the unofficial xenoblade thread now? :P

Anyone still meddling slowly away at the Bethesda stuff, or got into all that added recent fluff and bike with Zelda or something? ACA Vs Super Mario Bros popped up, and that's quite different from the NES game.

I've just been playing Doom lately. Honestly, it's a great port. It's weird, because there's a lot of people who will keep pointing out that "it's still an inferior port" and "overpriced", but I've come from the PS4 version to the Switch port and you really don't notice much. There's a bit of slow down here and there and it's obviously not as pretty, but it still the same Doom I loved in 2016. There's nothing that stops it from being just as awesome.

I can't play Xenoblade 2, as I don't have it. I think I might skip it altogether, because it just sounds like the battle mechanics are as convoluted as the other games in the series.

No, not really. It's very streamlined and really easy to use. By the time you get the topple mechanic the games battle is a total cakewalk. It has a lot of depth to it but to use it, about as easy as it gets.
