Nah it's been on Capcom compilations. I have it on a couple of them.
Yes indeedy. Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2 on PS2 and the Remixed collection on PSP.

Admittedly, I had to double check which collections they were on, but I knew I'd played it on systems that were definitely not the TG-16.

Note that 4 of the titles will have on-line play and this is also coming to Windows PC via Steam. I'm in. I have an arcade stick, why not use it? That way I can suck on-line where everyone can see, not just in the privacy of my game cave!

I agree with this. It's funny that USFII isn't in this collection. DOn't even think base HD Remix is either. For me it's going to be great to own both on Switch.

I think the emphasis of this collection is definitely on the definitive 'Arcade' versions. Which is good + bad - it preserves those versions of these games but also means that a lot of the content that originated on home console (like SFA3's World Tour Mode) will probably be omitted. Since USFII and SF2HDR never had arcade releases, I assume that is why they are not included.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

That definitely is a shame, that was so cool. I wish more fighting games had this kind of thing.

I get the want for arcade "purity" in a collection like this but it does leave out a lot.

Curious to knowing cross play will be happening with this? Nothing would please me more than kicking all y'alls butts in alpha 3!

Yeah, it sounds like it will be the arcade versions and therefore no World Tour mode, which is a real shame!

Guess I will still be playing my Dreamcast copy of Alpha 3 for years to come.

Probably not sadly.
