Street Fighter 30th Edition PS4/NS/XBO/PC Retail. 12 games

Post by Segata »

apcom has announced Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection,

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary is an anthology of 12 iconic titles, including the original Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.

Capcom also passed along the following information about the collection:

Players will be able to take the fight online in four of the classic titles for even more gameplay options, including Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Players can recreate the classic arcade gaming experience by competing against the CPU while waiting for friends in online battles where they can put their fighting skills to the ultimate test. Lobbies support up to four players waiting to climb up the ranks through Ranked Matches. Each title will also have their own Global leaderboards and the “rewind” tech ensures low-latency online battles.

With the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, fans can re-visit historic moments from the series, including the introduction of two of gaming’s most famous heroes – Ryu and Ken in the original Street Fighter, and explore the timeline of events that helped create one of the world’s leading fighting game series. Fans can take a walk down memory lane in the Museum and view stunning pieces of concept art, scroll through character bios and uncover little known facts behind each game release with an interactive timeline. Audiophiles can also sit back and relax while listening to the most memorable Street Fighter tunes in the Music Player.
Welp, I'm buying this for Switch. More SF on a cartridge is awesome!

Haha! That's pretty much what I'm thinking.

I'm buying this one way or another...

My god, it's like a love letter to anything that was pretty consistently not garbage of the Street Fighter franchise. Going from day one up through SF3s run including Alpha. No lame 3D oddities, no puzzles, no wonky gimmick games, and none of that unbalanced trash SF4 shoveled either. I've got to have this.

Got to wonder what will come of Ultra SF2 on the Switch though as this is so going to overshadow it.

Don't forget good art unlike the horrible 3D models of 4/5.

I think IV looks fine.

This is really cool though. I love that they include I and Alpha. Guess I won't need the Switch Ultra port anymore.

But... bu..but... what about Violent Ken?! I kid.

In all honesty, I am insanely excited for this. I was thinking of grabbing a second set of controllers and with announcement I may just grab up a pro controller. The stuff I am most excited for is the alpha series. Alpha 2 and 3 are by far my all time favorites. The mechanics just click with me and I thoroughly enjoyed the story elements.

I prefer the sprite/2D animated style art USF2 throws as choices which mimic all those old titles, but I don't find the 3D ugly either. I found the rotten design of SF4 in single player mode the deal breaker making it an awful game. Any game where I can not tell the difference between medium and hard difficulty and the range I can go from start to loss doesn't vary either is a problem of bad mechanics. I could play it on difficulty 4 or 7 and I'd get the same distance in the game, just a randomly yet inevitably cheap and horrible game when you play alone. Soured me so bad I've not tried SF5 and just played stuff based on the older games instead.

Even though these are old games that shouldn't strain any modern hardware, here's betting the Switch version is the worst version....
