Should I buy an MVS + Supergun? - Bought it.

Post by Hateshinai »

Firstly, a few things so that you understand my position. I live in Malta which is a mall island in the Mediterranean. Total population - 400, 000. Total shops selling retro games - zero. Chances to buy cool retro stuff - almost none.
Well, today I came across a guy who offered me an MVS board + Supergun + Neo Geo controller ( http://www.maltapark.com/item.asp?ItemID=387500 - except he sold Metal Slug already but will throw in the controller) for 100 Euro, which is US$130. I have NEVER seen one being sold in this country before, plus I have seen people asking almost as much for a NES with a few games! Obviously I will have to import the games from overseas. I do enjoy the occasional Neo Geo gaming spree on emulators so I am quite tempted. My birthday is coming up so I can treat myself to something without the wife nagging too much.
I have till tonight to decide.

So what do you guys think? Is it worth it?

P.S. I am also buying an NES, a Master System I and a Master System II (all boxed, plus with games) from him for a total of 90 Euro (US$ 120). Yay!

personally if you've got the cash to spare id go for it!
mvs games arent too hard to come by on the internet and its a great excuse to get a full cabinet =D

The problem with that advice is that the "quit it" portion of the process becomes much more complicated after the "hit it" maneuver has been completed. Much easier to "quit it" before all else.

Any one else cares to share their opinion?
The amount of love for Neo Geo showed in the forums is quite outstanding and I m more and more tempted to buy it. I have about 6 billion questions to ask the seller though!

I'd go for it. If you ever get bored of neogeo games you can always hook up other arcade boards to the supergun. A lot of them are actually very reasonably priced.

I bought it. Someone else was also interested so I ended up paying US$ 200 in the end for the Supergun with the MVS board + power supply + SCART cable. Now I need a Neo Geo controller and some games.
My wife is furious.
