Dragon Age Origins blew chunks. Inquisition was fun and I beat it, but it has to be hands down one of the most forgettable RPG's I've ever played. The final stretch and ending was awful. Definitely feels like a pure filler game when I look back on it. I wouldn't miss this boring series. I bet EA has no plans for it and Bioware will be axed soon. Loved the Mass Effect trilogy but I never really feel compelled to revisit it. I'm still thinking Obsidian's KOTOR2 beats out everything Bioware's ever done. Obisidian's writing is on another level.

Dreamcast, meh. I really don't think I'll ever bother to dust off this jet engine or put much time into it. Really bad controller. Sad times for SEGA, but the PS2, GC, and Xbox are better.

I don't think I like you anymore.

I like fake scanlines in retro games ported to modern systems. There I said it.

I know that Bioware did the D&D slow crawl stuff, I have the various remade ones that other studio did which ended up on GoG/Steam in the last few years and they're not bad at all. That's why I cut it off with Star Wars as I was thinking they were newer.

I think BG2 is the best pure RPG ever made. KOTOR 1 (KOTOR 2 is the superior game, but the first's story just can't be touched) is the best Star Wars game I've ever played. Jade Empire is every bit as good as KOTOR. These were some of my very favorite games of all time, and I was just so horribly disappointed by ME and DA.

I have nothing good to say about DA, I agree with some of you who said it was just too darn boring. ME is a decent series, it just doesn't have any fire for me. One of my favorite Sci-fi series are the Revelation Space books by Alastair Reynolds, which it seems to me was a huge inspiration for much of the ME universe, but it still fell flat as an overall package. I just feel like Bioware has completely lost it.

I agree on Dreamcast. It had great potential but even though I don't like the PS2 much, I could never honestly say the actual output on DC was a match for any other console of the generation, though of course that's not very fair.

As for Obsidian, they've still got it. I played Tyranny recently and it's a fine game with a great script. PoE was even better, and it really channeled the feeling BG2 gave me. I recommend both very highly.

Zork 1 is more interesting than any DA for me, 100%. I actually love that game. Are the sequels worth playing?

Jade Empire sucks. The slog of a game, Might still have the version with the making of DVD. Don't remember.

Is Revelation Space better than Mass Effect? Bioware shot themselves in the foot with the Reaper plot in the end. I'm not one that thinks ME3's bad ending ruing the whole journey or anything, but it got way too deus ex machina for my tastes and like suddenly the universe is in Shepard's hands. Didn't really like that. Now, EA/Bioware shot themselves in the foot with Doomguy's double barrel shotgun with how hard Andromeda flopped. They had the videogame equivalent to Star Trek / Star Wars in their hand and the sky was the limit, but they completely fumbled so hard it's unbelievable. I don't really see ME recovering again. I assume Bioware won't even survive until it gets another shot anyways.

I shouldn't say that lightly about the Dreamcast. There's novelty in it for sure, but yeah. I just think... realistically there's still so much more I could keep myself busy with on other platforms. I'm thinking the same with the Saturn thesedays. That library is just too daunting, expensive, and the US only got like a 1/4th of it. Just seems like a huge undertaking when there's probably plenty more on the PSX/PS2 I can still discover.

Now this is unpopular, but I wish Obsidian could get back to making more AAA-ish styled games like KOTOR or even Alpha Protocal (ME ripoff haha, but I liked it). I like to look at isometric games, but I don't like to play them at all. Even the original Fallout was a slog for me to get through because outside of the awesome story/music, it was just super boring to play. So as much as I love their previous console gen efforts, I don't think I'll ever touch their newer isometric RPG's. New Vegas is my favorite by far and I would love for Obsidian to get to do another Fallout in that new style. But with Chris Avellone gone I'm not sure what to make of them now.

I'll throw in with that group of thinkers. Dreamcast is a great system, but it also died young. With that you're stuck with a pretty limited library if you exclude all those warezy discs on ebay with single Neo Geo, CPS, etc games on them made by con artists. There's just not much variety so it wears thin fairly quick, especially if you root out the cross released stuff if you stack it against the 2001~ contemporaries of the GC and PS2 type stuff. I tried to give it another chance after not having one for a decade last winter and by summer I set off to sell it as it bored the crap out of me. I like arcade stuff and all that, but it just wore thin really fast like a rerun of something less than stellar so you just kind of don't bother and change the channel to something more engaging.

The Dreamcast was an incredible system. Why do you think so many games on that platform were remade again for newer platforms? And although many people insist there aren't any good exclusives left, those folks are incorrect.

The Megaman franchise isn't nearly as good as everyone says it is! :P There, I said it.
