I have 2 tall bookshelves in my living room with all of my console games on, and a tall and a half-size bookshelf in my bedroom with all my handheld stuff. Most of my consoles are set up under my TV (about 17 of them) whilst the rest are in storage boxes on top of my wardrobe. I'm running out of space on some of the shelves, but nothing a little stacking can't help with, at least for a while longer.
I'm in London, so my house can't be much bigger than yours. I don't have kids though, so that likely helps!

Yeah, I blame my wife and son for monopolising the space haha.
It's also my own fault for collecting so many things, I guess. I also have large collections of DVDs/Blu Rays, books, comics, toys, CDs/vinyl/tapes etc...

I have a decent sized book collection, but I don't collect a lot else.

Reprise, I have a fairly large house and a dedicated media/game room. I also use the closet of the guest bedroom for extra storage, which is mainly console boxes and moving boxes with my extra/backup consoles and controllers.

I have a large enough house that I was able to secure a dedicated game room (AKA Dork Cave). The agreement I made with my wife is that if I could have a dedicated game room, I would keep all my gaming stuff in it, rather than littered about the house. Said game room is 132 ft². It's big enough that I am able to fit all my video game stuff in it, including two entertainment centers (one for sixth gen, the other for seventh gen), a PC gaming desk, a PC gaming chair, a recliner, and many shelves of video games. The room also has a large closet, and it too is chock full of video game stuff.
The only video game thing I keep outside said room, is a tablet in a bedside table near my bed. I also have a big box in the attic full of PC game cases and manuals. But that's it.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Hopefully I have a house someday.
Re: Poll - How Many Physical Games are in Your Collection?
Guess that's my problem actually. I'm not allowed an entire dedicated gaming room and we just don't really have room anyways. We have the living room, which I have half my consoles hooked up to. We have a cupboard in there that we fitted some shelves in and that's where I store half my games. It's absolutely rammed. But then I also have my DVDs/Blu Rays, CDs/Vinyls/Tapes etc in there too. Upstairs, the other half of my consoles and games are stored in the spare bedroom and are all hooked up to a TV in there. I have Ikea cubed shelves, which the TV, consoles and games sit on/in. Then there's 3 bookshelves in there, which we split between the two of us, but that's full of books and my toy collection. And that's it really.
Otherwise, we have the nursery, bathroom, our bedroom, the kitchen and a conservatory, none of which are suitable places for me to store my games collection. Obviously
It's not just games to be fair. I've run out of space to store books, CDs and DVDs/Blu Rays too.

Re: Poll - How Many Physical Games are in Your Collection?
I'm thinking it's time I bring the total down again. I've priced out my New3DS XL and the dozen games plus grip I have, same with around 12 or so Famicom titles and FC Mobile88 w/multicart plus a honeybee adapter. I can never find time to use them, bought in the last year 2 games for both and loved them all of 2-3hours and then moved on and forgot about the stuff with guilt and no motivation to return. Sounds like they need to go. Dropping that stuff maybe a few others could push me down back to around 300. Still that feels like a lot but that's over 1985 to now cartridge/disc/card wise in physical stuff.

Two words: finished basement. An "easy" way to add extra space to your house. Sure, my game room is underground, has no direct heat source, and one measly window... but all my games fit in there!
