Just bought myself a GBA SP 101, and a decent fistful of games to start out with!

Metroid Fusion
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Wario Land 4
Sonic Advance
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Mega Man Zero 3

Also picked up a few GB(C) games, of course

Link's Awakening DX
Tetris DX
Konami GB Collection Vol 1
Beatmania GB

Very excited to dive into these. Aside Zelda and Mario&Luigi, these are all games I've never played before! Particularly excited about the European released Konami Collection, as it contains Operation C, Gradius, and Castlevania Adventure in one cart, with gbc color support!

Daaaang, that's a nice start. And an AGS-101! I want one of those for my GBC gaming, but haven't had a good shot at one. One game I'd really like to give a go is Kirby Tilt 'N' Tumble. Before y'all mention the cart orientation, I have a Game Saver device that ends up flipping the cart around, so I think I'd be able to use it as a passthrough.

Anyway, I picked up Alwa's Awakening off my list, it's on sale for $6 on Steam. I also grabbed Monument Valley 2 with some of the Amazon Coins that have been sitting in my account for some time now. I still wish Square would throw Romancing SaGa 2 on there, or Capcom put the Phoenix Wright games on there, but oh well. MV2 will do.

Yeaaaaah dunpeal, that's like a 10/10 haul right there.

I can't remember which Mega Man Zero game I liked the most, but I think it was between 2 or 3.

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye out for a 101 for a good while now. One of those gaming Facebook groups had one show up for $40 shipped, with a nice screen on it, figured that was as good a deal as I would be able to find now.

I am a very big fan of the X series (X-X5, that is), and have always wanted to jump into its predecessor, but this will be my first chance to. If its like X, then playing out of order might be okay, but I may still try to wait until I can pick up the first game.

Oh I was assuming you played Zero 1-2. The story connects a lot more directly and 4 is really a grand conclusion that completely finishes this story off. So yeah I would recommend starting with the first game and playing them in order. Only problem is the first game is that weird pseudo Metroidvania style that doesn't totally work, and I remember having to grind for some powerups or something for a bit. Overall still pretty good, but I liked the sequels more.

Overall it's still Mega Man, so the story isn't too crazy... but I love them and the Zero series definitely has the biggest emphasis on continuity across all the games with the story.

I never actually bought the MMZ games for GBA, which is pretty embarrassing. I blame it on my GBA flash cart days. I rectified that with the DS collection, though.

I also didn't own Harmony of Dissonance or Aria of Sorrow until they came out with the double pack. Also quite embarrassing. What can I say, I was a pirating cad then.

Good info on the MMZ games. The first game is the only one I've played, and it certainly came off a little odd. Especially wasn't a fan of the grinding. Very glad to hear that this isn't persistent across the series. I'll be sure to play em in order.
