well, the second attempt is going rather well actually. Though the XCOM project will certainly miss Thor Odinson and Sam Wilson who met their end at the hands of a Chosen.

Sadly Kara Zorel was lost on her first mission.

But the new campaign is going well otherwise. Jessica Jones, Carol Danvers, Jennifer Walters, and Michaelangelo are getting along well.

is it that he can snipe you from across the fucking map?

I met him for the first time last night. I'd had multiple run-ins with the other two, but not him. Luckily I was in a position to dodge his attack and get my Templar on him fast.

I will say this... I'm starting to think that War Of The Chosen may well be the best modern XCOM game. May. I don't know yet. Either way, even the "worst" game in the series would be 10/10.

I found the assassin woman Chosen the toughest. Then the Warlock, and then the Sniper. Avoiding the sniper guy was relatively easy, but no reactions on the assassin and her ability to melee a guy out of shadow wouod often incapacitate one of my squad. They do not scale well though. Once you start upgraded weapons and armor in xcom 2, it gets pretty easy. I actually find the end game to drag a little and become a bit trivial. But that early and mid game can be a nice challenge.

totally agree that she's the toughest. The fact that she can avoid overwatch is definitely the issue for me.

Interesting; I've always gotten the Warlock third. The Warlock is the one I'm referring to; the snipe across the map is pretty easy to dodge. But the Warlock can be involved in something that will just make you rage the first time it happens.

hmm, I've encountered the Warlock twice and don't remember anything infuriating. Guess I haven't seen it yet.

alright, so I'm like 14 hrs into my 2nd campaign now, which is about where I was when my last game glitched.

This second attempt is going wayyy better. I've been doing pretty good with prioritizing things to keep the Avatar Project in check. And I just understand some of the newer systems a lot better now. Like I love the covert ops stuff with the Resistance Ring. It's generally such an easy way to get all kinds of cool perks and really only requires you not have access to a couple of soldiers at a time.

Right now I'm working on getting the Tactics School up and running so I can get a 5th soldier slot - something I should have done a long time ago but kept doing other shit first.

And please a moment of silence for miss Jessica Jones. She was my best healer and got knocked unconscious during an attack on a stronghold. Aqua Man did his best to get her to the Evac but we lost him as well.
