Re: New trailer for SMT V on Switch
Looks interesting. I tried playing SMT IV but never got really far. I just found it hard playing on the 3DS screen. It will be nice playing on the big screen now. I am hoping they bring over Persona 5 as well.
Re: New trailer for SMT V on Switch
I saw this teaser last night, and thought you were going to be telling me that it was actually SMT V. (I think that other teaser looks kind of like crap, isn't supposed to have a reveal until the 26th, and I'd be a little surprised if it weren't just Metal Max.)
Looks all right, but I'd be way more hyped if they managed to bring Okada Kouji back into the fold (lol, jokes). Until that day--in an alternate universe--the SMT series ends with Nocturne.

The interesting thing about this (at least to me), is the Facebook pages that posted the trailer were full of people bitching and whining about it being a Nintendo exclusive.
I didn't realise there were still people - grown adults my age - who whinge and act like petulant children about games being exclusive to certain platforms or not coming out on their platform of choice.

I love SMT, don't own a Switch, and am glad SMT5 is coming to Switch. As Sarge said in the Switch thread, the Switch is basically the next Vita. There's plenty of logical reasons it makes sense for SMT5 to go to Switch. I'm just glad it's not coming to 3DS, really. The 3DS is awesome, but it's had its day.Reprise wrote:I didn't realise there were still people - grown adults my age - who whinge and act like petulant children about games being exclusive to certain platforms or not coming out on their platform of choice.

It is the next Vita but with a touch under PS4/Xbox One graphics and can connect to your tv with out issue. That makes it really special. This will be the first numbered sequel we can play on the TV in a long time. Hopefully they add some of the Persona style to this game.Exhuminator wrote:I love SMT, don't own a Switch, and am glad SMT5 is coming to Switch. Re: New trailer for SMT V on Switch
People get angry about it all the time no matter the age. It sucks when stuff ends up exclusive if you don't have the hardware. It's kind of expected when it's a 1st or 2nd party game, or something co developed with a maker+3rd party. SMT though that's not really a Nintendo exclusive, or hasn't been traditionally though SMT4 was on 3DS as was its spinoff as it had been a Sony thing for many years. Its when it turns into being mad and acting like a child about it when it goes too far. If you choose to stop supporting a company or a franchise because of what X maker does that's cool, acting like a 10 year old about it never is though.Reprise wrote:The interesting thing about this (at least to me), is the Facebook pages that posted the trailer were full of people bitching and whining about it being a Nintendo exclusive.

It seems anytime something is exclusive to a Nintendo console people flip their shit. People are still going on about Bayonetta 2.
Re: New trailer for SMT V on Switch
We all know now that the second game wouldn't have been made unless nintendo waved money at sega but it's still understandable that people get upset when previously multiplat game suddenly gets sequel on a console on which the first game never even appeared.Segata wrote:It seems anytime something is exclusive to a Nintendo console people flip their shit. Though at this point they should get over it if they are still salty about it.
But yeah. I guess nintendo gets more shit when they manage to get an exclusive but i guess in this case it's a factor that PS4 tends to be the big JRPG platform and it's games often these days are shared with PC players. It's pretty unlikely that this game will be on PC.
Personally i'm not mad about it because i will eventually get a switch so it makes no difference to me but i'm sure there are plenty who don't want to invest on switch because of what happened with their previous big consoles. Things are looking good for switch right now but i'm not as positive about it's future as others seems to be.
