Over at atariage someone linked the SKU for this thing on brickseek for walmart. I put in my zip, and 2 of them have 6 in stock.

Do you know anyone who really wanted one who hasn't been able to get one, yet? It seems to me that supply has been enough so far to keep most of the insane resale prices at bay.
This here. I haven't seen anyone complain about not being able to get one. Usually all media sites will be filled with people screaming about Nintendo screwing people over and it just isn't happening.
Not exactly, no (I don't know anyone). But when I got mine (and I count myself lucky) at Gamestop there were 5 other people in for the same thing. 2 of them were ladies (not sure why that surprised/impressed me, I think they were planning ahead and I'm just obsessive). We each got one and I'm positive that their stock didn't last the hour.
Wal-mart fared worse in my previous efforts to secure one, as they only got a half dozen initially (with no guess as to when future shipments arrive for it).
Granted, I live in a small town. But this item will be hot through the holidays. No dust will settle on these things.

I almost want another one to hack as others do. But I will keep mine original (unless I change my mind later, but not likely given the limitations on memory).
Extra controllers would be nice though. A hacked Wii could really benefit from them. I don't like other classic controllers as much.
...just another lost soul...

Two walmarts in town yesterday each had 6. The one down the street from me I got my system at had 6 in today but in back. I went down and scooped up another for my kid which is now hiding in the closet. I was hoping to get a second I could do some hakchi experimentation on but they wouldn't do it because the staffer said had the employees known it was there they had people waiting on them (like they get first choice.) Now to decide on Christmas or sometime next year with it as a reward.

How is everyone finding the rewind feature on this? I know there might be some purists that hate the idea but with my powers and free time dwindling with age I'm having no problem using it.
Example: I wanted to play and beat Castlevania IV tonight for no other reason than it was Halloween....I beat the game years ago via the regular ordeal but tonight I was able to have a satisfying frustration free session by using this feature. It was kind of like watching a favourite movie and because it's not as immediate as an instant reverse at any time it doesn't really "feel" like cheating either, more a way for busy people to skip cynical old-school game mechanics like making you start from the beginning of the world again.

I wonder if Nintendo would consider adding it to their next batch of NES minis...

I forgot the feature was there as I had no interest in it. :) I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea if you wanted to fix a problem, then save it and bail until later on a game.

I doubt they'll update the NES mini with a new library though as that would just be more money and time invested when there's no reason as the demand hasn't vanished.

Likewise, I also forgot about the rewind feature. I guess I should give it a try.

I don't think I've used rewind even one time (because I forgot it was there).

Save states though, are a wonderful thing.

What do people think of the borders included?

I find myself only really ever using 3 of them. The wooden snes one. The space one and the one that subtley changes gradients of colour based on the colours being displayed in game.

I found most of them surprisingly dull. Given all the space, it would have been nice to have custom borders for each game.

I didn't know the grid did that. I just put it on the 90s looking TV and left it because the rest were boring looking to me and I didn't want just black space as I hate that.
