It's official: Yu Suzuki retires

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Sega is truly a shell of what they used to be. They've lost so many of their top creative minds; it's sad to see what has happened to this company.

Hopefully he can completely leave and have success like others that were once important developers within Sega. Just curious why he is still there. He isn't seemingly working on anything. Does Sega just not want to let him go?

Do you mean Shenmue 3?
Lol, yeah. I guess that's what I get for posting on forums during class.

Wasn't a big fan of Shenmue, but he was an awesome game designer none the less.

I would love if he just gave us the ending to Shenmue. just be like "dudes, ryo hops on another boat, beats up more sailors, Nozomi is still never mentioned, and then beats lan-di on a skyscraper or something".
boom. there you have it. that's all it would take, just an official word on how it ends. I know that he knows how he wants it to end, so just get it over with!

Agreed. Just dump us the script already.

I maybe a dreamer, but I think Yu should own the rights to Shenmue franchise, form an Independent game studio, have all the funding from the fans, and finally release Shenmue III (or at least a Shenmue remake)

Like John Lennon says:
"You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"

Maybe that'll give us some hope for a Shenmue III. :)

But, anyway, I feel like a little part of me just died inside. *runs to play Outrun in memoriam of an era* I think many of us will be playing Shenmue in the very near future because of this.
