What RPG are you playing right now?

Here's my mixed opinion.

It rules.

Brain Lord is an excellent action RPG with some challenging puzzles and even the occasional platforming section. It is worth checking out, and it's not terribly expensive for a SNES RPG. I say go for it.

And you all know my opinion of 7th Saga.

Got Persona 5 recently and LOVE IT!

I put in a lot of time into the "updated" 2014 game Gauntlet, which did a poor job of capturing the feel of the original series. Instead, it felt like a poor man's western action RPG, and I gotta admit, I had a hankering build up. So I decided to go back to Torchlight, a game I had beaten the main storyline of years ago but had not returned to since.

So now I'm back, both playing as my old character through the big endless dungeon you unlock after beating the "final" boss and trying out the Hardcore mode. I expect I will come and go from the game for a while, but I don't know if I'll actually complete it this time around, or if instead I'll play for a bit and then set it aside to come back to later. I have other western action RPGs to try out from the last 20 years...I might hop around to others if I lose interest in this one.

I approve of Ack getting back into single player gaming again.

I have to. I hardly been buying games this year, so I have to focus on the stuff I've owned, which means lots of single player titles that I've been putting off devoting some time to for years. Some of it will be more modern (sub-10 years), but it's all stuff I want to play around with.

The only compliment I can give the new Gauntlet is the Slayer Edition theme is amazing. Other than that. It's not great. If you played the original version it was SO MUCH WORSE! It was an endless dungeon and you couldn't choose. It was pretty cheap as well.

I've started Xenosaga for like the 5th time now. Over the years I get a few hours in and fizzle out because I get distracted by something else. I've owned the darn thing since it came out and recently acquired II and III. I've got a good feeling about it this time. I'm already farther than I have ever gotten. I'm a little past the point where you are introduced to Jr. I'm hoping to wrap this thing up before Mario Odyssey comes out.

Albedo is one of the best characters in any RPG.
