Are there different types of seals for DS games?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Are there different types of seals for DS games?

Post by molotovwars »

I placed an order on Amazon for two DS games. Pokemon Platinum for me to play and a copy of Korg DS-10 Synthesizer that I was going to keep sealed. Korg DS-10 looks like a complete reseal, mind you this is an order coming from Amazon.com not the marketplace. The more I look at this, the more I am convinced its a reseal, or maybe since its not such a blockbuster title the seal is different, but I don't know.

Does anyone know if some DS games are sealed more shittily than others?

Well this may help for some confirmation:

So this seal is identical to the one I received from amazon.com - looks like complete shit compared to any other sealed game I've gotten. Do you think this is how a factory seal is from XSeed Games?

You mean how some seals are more flimsy than others? I think that's just how the factory does it. I got a brand new copy of Tokyo Beatdown and it had the flimsy seal, while Platinum had the beefy one. I'm not sure about that specific shrink-wrap type of seal, though.

I know Amazon doesn't sell reseals as new. If the seal looks like that then it came from the vendor in the same condition.

If it has ears, it's actual a sea lion.

Whats wrong with the seal? Sure diff manufacturers use a different grade and such of material. Dont be so scared, if it looks new, who gives a shit unless its a ton more expensive.

Yes, it's become more commonly lately, especially with DS games.
The "good" seal is called a cigarette style seal (I believe), because it is wrapped like a cigarette carton).
The "bad" kind is shrinkwrap, and is easily duplicated, but some manufacturers are sending them out like this.

Yeah, that's basically what I got. I bought Korg DS-10 to keep sealed and sell in the future. I've got an M3 DS Real, so I can play it if I want. I'll definitely be keeping my amazon.com receipt for whenever I sell it in the future in an attempt to prove its legit.
