What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Rumors of my disappearance might have been greatly exaggerated, but I'm back! I also made it before the temporary blackout tomorrow! This post will be full of smiles and even some sadness.

It has been quite the summer for me, and my apologies for not being here. On July 16th, I lost my father of 72 years. There has been a lot of paperwork and other things I had to be involved in with my mom through all of that. I haven't had time for a lot of other things, and the only game I've been doing during all this time was Pokemon Go, but the friends I've gained just from playing that game have been nothing short of amazing. It's such a nice feeling to be part of a large community like that.

But a community like this, even moreso! I will be returning to the business of even more gaming for the rest of the year, I hope! There have been gaming projects I've abandoned for far too long, and you'll be hearing about them in the threads they belong in, for sure. I am also looking forward to this month's TR in Bioshock, it being another game I quit playing a while back due to all the circumstances in my life.

For those concerned about how I fared through Irma, I did just fine. No damage to the house. Had to evacuate overnight, and power was restored the following afternoon. All is good here! At the risk of sounding terribly cliche, it's great to be back!

Peaceful day. Said it before but I really do value them.

Annoyed Amazon seems they won't be shipping my Dragon's Dogma nor Battle Chasers today and not sure when. I'm a prime member. This seems to be happening more often where I am not getting release day. Really annoying, because I am impatient. On the plus side, I got 2 other games super cheap and they will be here tomorrow.

If it makes you feel better... I didn't get my router today! I'm a Prime member, and I paid extra for one-day shipping so it would arrive today. I received another package via UPS today, but not the router. So I just tracked it, it still says "shipping today" and "Arriving today by 8PM". Well it's just about 9PM now, so I really doubt that!

I have never had Amazon deliver anything to me on release day. Doesn't matter how early I pre-ordered it or what I paid. It's just never happened, so I quit expecting it. Instead, I've noticed that they just ship it on release day. I think the only people who get it any quicker are those who live, like, practically right next to a distribution center.

Now, Best Buy, on the other hand, has been very good about getting things to me on release day. And the only time I didn't get it, it only ended up being a day late. So, still better than Amazon. Go figure.

^ Same here, it's pretty hit or miss for me, but I'm usually waiting a day or two after release date to get something. At least there's the 10% discount for pre-ordering though.

They always have for me until this year they are hit and miss. Kinda sucks. I am so hyped to play Dragon's Dogma. I never played it before but love RPGs in the classic setting. I love my JRPGs but sometimes (yes I know this is a JRPG but western themed) but every so often I want a very western looking and feeling RPG.
