I was out mowing the lawn earlier and this thread idea popped in my mind.
"Gaming session" = a time when you sit down to play a game explicitly.
I average 2-3 hours. (Usually 10pm to 1am, or 11pm to 2am.)

Re: How long are your average gaming sessions?
I usually get to play 2-3 hours from 8 pm to 10/11 pm after my daughter goes to sleep.
Some games will make me inadvertently play longer if I am engaged. I'm looking at you CIV VI!!! PLAYING FOR 7 HOURS STRAIGHT IS NOT OK!!!

Thanks for random.
I can go a week and do nothing but tap on my phone for a few minutes as filler. Other times I can put .5-1hr a day in, on another I could go in 3-5 hours too. It just depends, but also equally depends on what the game is as well. I can't sit on a Super Mario World style game for over an hour or so, but you put me on a Zelda Breath of the Wild, Guild Wars 1 and 2, Wing Commander 1 and 2, Sim City/SC2000, Civilization, or (PC) Rebel Galaxy style game and I could lose hours easy. The variety and system also would make for a time I dig into it or situation I'm in currently too (late tired, stuck waiting for something, etc.)

Re: How long are your average gaming sessions?
It's a little hard for me to settle on one choice.
On weekdnights I might get in 1-2 hours.
On the weekends the limits are unchained and I'd say easily 5+ spread throughout the day. 10+ if it's something incredible or I'm playing a few games a day.
Specially looking at my games beaten list this year, here's some that I easily got super long sessions out of:
- Breath of the Wild, if we humans didn't need sleep I could have played this forever. Pure bliss.
- Dishonored 2 and Prey, can easily marathon games like these, though I sometimes want a break.
- Dark Souls 3 DLC, the Zelda effect... I don't really need a break and can keep going forever with Souls.
- Nier Automata
- Mega Man Legends 1-2
- Sonic Mania
- Yakuza 0
It's funny but I'd say in my late teen years and early college days, even though I was playing games a LOT (my Xbox gamescore still shocks me), I don't think I ever played super long sessions for awhile there. Unless it was like CoD4 or Bad Company 2 online. This is before I had a good computer, bigger TV, and an awesome setup in general. Upgrading all this stuff has made all the hobbies even better. Even watching movies or anime, etc, I literally enjoy things more than before. If that makes sense? So my sessions have gotten longer again over the years when it seems to go the opposite route for some people. I'm guessing having a nice entertainment setup can do that.

Re: How long are your average gaming sessions?
An actual "session" is usually 45-60 minutes.
I may play games twice in one day though (my kids nap every afternoon) so my cumulative daily time is more like 60-120 minutes.

Re: How long are your average gaming sessions?
I wouldn't say it's random every time, but it can vary greatly depending on what type of game and what day of the week it is. If it's a weekday, I'm might just play something for 30-60 minutes. Weekend, if I'm engrossed, I could have multiple 1-2 hour sessions. Something like SimCity, Mario Maker, or similar, I might "accidentally" play it for hours on end, no matter what day of the week it is. If I'm completely enamored with a game, I could play it constantly on a weekend with only some short breaks every so often.
Re: How long are your average gaming sessions?
Sometimes only 1 hour at a time. Other times several hours. I rarely do 10+ marathons because I stop myself these days. I would always get depressed when I did. So no matter what I still stop myself to not hit nor cross that 10 hours. I rarely need to, thankfully. So random is my answer.

Re: How long are your average gaming sessions?
Thanks to my recent unemployment, the amount has gained substantially. Whenever I finish all my daily tasks, I finally settle down to game and that can be anywhere between 4 and 6 hours at a time.
Back when I had a job, I think the most would be about 3 or 4 hours. So, I have been gaming much more in the past few months than in recent memory.

Depends on the game. I finished Deus Ex: HR over the spawn of a week with around 1-3hour stretches of time. I beat FEAR2 in one sitting (Don't know how many hours I played though.)

Depends on the game and just how I'm feeling that day. If a game SUPER has my attention, I can do 7+ hour gaming binges on a weekend, but sometimes, especially if it's a handheld, I'll just poke in for like 10 or 20 minutes at a time.
