Atari 7800 Crapping Out

Post by ElkinFencer10 »

So my Atari 7800 has crapped out on me, I think. It won't play 2600 games at all, and it will only run 7800 games in black and white. I've tried different RCA cables for the RF output, and I've tried power cycling the 7800. I now assume that it's broken. Anyone got any advice on troubleshooting or ability and willingness to fix it for me?

Wait, you're using an RCA to RF adapter such as this one, right?

Just want to make sure you're not trying to use an RCA cable in a TV's RCA input.

Edit: If it's not that, this link might lead to an answer.

Yeah, that should work. What kind of display are you using? If it's something you know has worked with the 7800, check out my second link. It's likely bad caps or something else inside, but the link should provide you with details for a start.

Yeah, it's the same TV I've used with it for years. I'll take a look. Thanks.
