I cannot do stealth. It always stresses me out and on top of that I don't have any patience at all in video games. If there is a guns-blazing option I always take it.

I don't know if noise ever figured it out since I think he has similar issues, but you can pretty much play the Dishonored games like Bioshock if you wanted. It's never ideal to take on a full crowd of enemies, but you have plenty at your disposal to be very lethal and brute force. The controls are really intuitive too and I always play these on controllers, they feel great. Compared to how stiff Human Revolution or something feels, but I guess that's subjective.
On that note I usually do non-lethal stealth runs for my first, but since Billie Lurk is an assassin... I'm going lethal right off the bat with this one!

I picked up No One Lives Forever 2 off of eBay a couple days ago on the recommendation of a Youtuber I like, but I'm having some issues. The game seemed to install properly, and it also boots up just fine and I can launch into a game. The sound cuts out and the game just stops moving in the middle of the intro cutscene though, so I'm gonna have to keep fiddling with it. I REALLY don't wanna have to download an XP emulator or something to play this, but if I gotta I gotta, I guess
Given that this game has never been released on any digital platform, though, I'm surprised it just immediately took to Windows 7 as well as it did though! Completely unpatched as well! Given that the last official servers shut down in '08 apparently, perhaps simply applying the official patches will get it to work *crosses-feathers*

I recall being able to get it to work with just configuration settings; I don't recall needing any sort of unofficial patch.

You're right! A quick look at PC Gaming Wiki mentioned altering the sound settings. Turning off the sound mixing or what have you made it work a treat! I did install the official 1.3 patch as well, but I can't be sure it did anything (or even installed properly, tbh). I gotta say thought the mouse sensitivity is INSANE in this game. Havn't gone into it past just making sure it works yet, but the intro is certainly funny X3

After an absence from gaming in general, I finally beat Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.
For all this sequel did right (shorter missions, quicksaves, more weapons, improved crosscom/tactical map, and not nearly as many frustrating issues), it all went to pot in the final mission. Grin has done it again! Very poor design or bugs or whatever, starting with the worst insertion point I've ever seen in the series, right in the line of fire. One of my teammates got killed coming down the rope from the helicopter. Then the game autosaved.
WHUT
After a few hours of trying to cross the bridge into Mexico (and getting killed constantly, because quicksaving didn't work), I finally decided to re-attempt the mission with a solid sniper rifle and I de-selected all of my team mates. 30 minutes later crawling across the border, I finally got into Mexico, then the rest of the mission was cake.
BUT, despite target designating the missile and getting out of the bunker before the EMP blast, no cutscene and a D grade! (you could do better it said, I was waiting for the "there was an attempt" troll star image next) I tried it a few more times, and even though I made it OUTSIDE, still no cutscene. Reading some 10 year old forum posts reveals that the cutscene doesn't get triggered all the time, even if you get out safely!!! I ended up watching it on YouTube and since I did in fact follow the story and make it out, I declare this game FINISHED.
Thanks for the good times GRIN. Never again!

Yeah the GRIN developed versions of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter are something else. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is actually considered easier than the first Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, due to the fact you can quicksave. The original Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter did not let you do that, you had to rely on very sparse checkpoints. I beat the original GRIN developed Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on PC, and that was a grueling experience I did not wish to repeat. So I never bothered with GRIN's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 after that. You have my condolences.

The quicksaves were a welcome addition, but I also appreciated the shorter missions and better squad AI too. That final mission though, took me back to all the problems I had with the first game. There's all sorts of old forum posts about it, many of them I was reading last night!

just to name a few. For all GRIN did right, it all was forgotten about on the last mission.

I still have that copy you sent me. I like to pet it occasionally and whisper in its ear, "I beat you..."

It still slurps a little bit of your soul every time you touch it though.
