Anyone pick up DS-i today?

Anyone pick up DS-i today?

Post by Dakinggamer87 »

I'm just curious if anyone picked up a DS-i and pulled the trigger to upgrade DS Lite or your original DS. I'm gonna wait mainly cause I have a DS that works great. The other reasons are there aren't any DS-i enabled games yet and want to wait for DSiWare game selection to be better and more variety.. the GBA compatibility is a bummer but that is why I won't get rid of my old handhelds.. Also, the free 1000 pts. offer with each DS-i is good till October 5, 2009 so I got time to get one while offer is still valid..

The new features are interesting but at least for me won't last long. I hate to use the word "gimmick" but the music and photo are for me at least. It's just not that interesting to me..

So who got one? Shout out what ya think.. 8)

I think the overall feeling towards the DSi here is pretty negative. Everyone who was going to buy a DS probably already has one, and if the were holding out, I doubt they're going to jump for the most expensive model. Not to mention, like you said, the lack of gba compatibility kills it for almost everyone else. The only somewhat interesting thing about it is the DSiWare, which if it's anything like the wiiware titles, are nothing worth rebuying a system over.

what i find wrong with the dsi is the ac power plug. its different than the ds light. they are not compatible with each other. so lets just say that the dsi ac adapter broke....you cannot use the ds light adapter to plug the dsi in. now you have to buy a adapter for the dsi. no, i dont have a dsi....yet. i already have a ds light. maybe later i'll pick one up.

It's an incremental upgrade. But looks good. I want.

Mine's arriving on Tuesday. I decided to go for it, since it has the bigger screen, and the other potential awesome features. I'd care more about the lack of GBA capability if I didn't already have 2 other DS's and 2 GBAs.

My gripe with this DSi thing is stupid at best, or maybe not. Anyways, why can't Nintendo make a product and just stick to it? Gameboy Advance-Gameboy Advance SP-Gameboy Advance Micro-Gameboy Advance SP (AGS-101). Nintendo DS-DS Lite-DSi. What the hell? Why so many iterations? I saw this all coming when I was a junior in high school. My friends were creaming their pants over the DS but I knew within a year or two Nintendo would release another one so I just held out until the DS lite came out. It's like, you can't trust them! You buy their product, enjoy it for awhile but then they release a different version that does basically the same thing for 40 bucks more. I'm having trouble trying to say what I'm thinking, but does anyone else get what I'm saying?

Why keep iterating? Because they want your moneys.

I have an original DS. I'd be more interested in getting a DSi and finally upgrading if I actually spent time with my DS. Used to play it all the time but not so much in the last year or two.

I want a DS, and hopefully I am able to pick up a DS lite. I really dont like the DS-i for some reason.
