SSF has come a long way. A lot of games are getting extremely close to perfect accuracy. While it doesn't offer any visual enhancements, it's by far the most compatible. If it continues at this rate, my Saturn could be obsolete in a year. As this console is getting harder to find over the years, this emulator couldn't be more appreciated.

So far, Panzer Dragoon 2 is playing great on here. The music is still a little off, and has some pacing issues, and there's some very rare texture problems I don't think exist on the real hardware, but otherwise, no complaints. It ran well enough for me to get 100% on Episode 2's Hard Route.

I've tried other games like Radiant Silvergun, NiGHTS, Powerslave. All work extremely well these days. Give SSF another try if you didn't like the results you got a year or more ago. Again, SSF requires a pretty decent dual core CPU to run full speed. Don't expect much on your old Athlon XP / Pentium 4.

Saturn emulation was horrible on my old 3GHz P4 rig, so I'm definitely gonna have to try it again on my new i7 system. Good news indeed.

just another incentive to get a new pc. the only saturn games my pc can run smoothly are panzer dragoon (with some minor to extreme framerate issues), and Bug! (but I don't want to play that sooooo).
btw I am rocking 512 MB of memory, a SWEET 3400 AMD processor, and a BOMB-ASS ATI Radeon Express graphics chip.

Wow I am very impressed. That is so much better than the last time I ran SSF. I'm definitely going to give it another try. *searches to find gamepad* Now I wonder what another year will bring. Maybe we'll finally get close to perfect Saturn emulation. *drools*

Maybe it will make you feel better to know my laptop is 2.2 GHZ pentium 4 and I run 256 ram and I do not think I have a graphics card. Feeling better?

Thanx for the post, really interested in Saturn Emulation. Now if we only can get that controller to work on pc's, or can it?

I've only used it to play Dragon Force and Shining the Holy Ark so far, but I haven't had any major issues with it on those two games. It's a little rough around the edges, but it's pretty simple to get up and running on. I love that the author keeps it updated constantly.

There are saturn model 2 usb pads but they can be pricey online.

Beyond the USB pads, there's the old fashioned box converters. There's a few different ones that work for Saturn to PC (often 3 in 1), so they must still be floating around out there.

I'm going to wait until there's a new exclusive PC game I simply can't avoid or until my computer is on its dying legs to get an entirely new rig. Quads are going to be in children's toys by the time I get around to 'em!

Actually, the saturn usb pads have come down in price quite a but within the last few months
