Did you read the Famistu interview too? That one had some points I felt were interesting an reassuring.
- Discussions with Deep Silver have been going on for a while
- Yu Suzuki states that with the publisher on board, it means they are able to aim higher than their initial goals
- The release delay was done so they can "enrich the content of the game"
- Shenmue III's story starts from the day after the final scene in Shenmue II (there had been lots of speculation that Disc 4 on Shenmue 2 would be remade as the opening of Shenmue 3)
- Yu Suzuki wants to help new players get up to speed with the story and wants to include a "digest", but isn't sure it will be a movie or what
- There will be flashbacks to events that happened in the previous games
- They're working hard on creating lots of 'Shenmue-esque' mechanics and gameplay elements in regards to mini games and jobs
- Wants to include lure fishing. You will be able to sell fish to make money
- Wood chopping will be included as another way of making money
- Forklifts will be included in some capacity
- QTEs will of course be in the game
- New fighting system is being built
- This trailer was just a teaser to show development and promote the partnership with Deep Silver. Full-scale promotion will not begin until the end of the year at the earliest, but more likely early next year
- As such, there won't be an appearance at the Tokyo Games Show or anything
- The 'trial' version of Shenmue 3 that was promised to backers is planned to be similar in style to the 'What's Shenmue?' demo
- Yu feels a great sense of responsibility to make both a game that he will be happy with, but one fans will be happy with too
- As a result of the deal with Deep Silver, Shenmue 3 will be "beefed up" compared to what was initially planned
