I fought him and wonBogusMeatFactory wrote:Yeah, the purpose of that encounter is to stealth around. On every tree there are 2-3 shock arrows. If you can get past him there is a cache. He is absolutely NOT meant to be engaged early on.noiseredux wrote:alright so I got to the part of the Zora/beasts quest where I need to collect 20 of those shock arrows or whatever. But the dude guarding them is a jerk and just destroys me in one shot. I try to sneak around but he senses me so easily. Soooo I decided to go off and work on hunting/gathering so I can raise enough rupies to afford a full stealth outfit. I have the pants so far.

well if anything this gives me a reason to spend some time grinding to upgrade my gear. So that's fine.
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
If you don't want the gear that he drops, there is a really easy way to beat him or any Lynel.

^I'm still going to grind for the new gear, but I totally want to go and find the things you said I should get in that spoiler for funsies.

You want to do the base quests for the tech labs regardless, since if I recall, most unlock or upgrade abilities.

I definitely did one of the lab quests - the one where I had to transport blue flame some distance back to the lab. I don't remember what they did for me as it was a while ago now.isiolia wrote:You want to do the base quests for the tech labs regardless, since if I recall, most unlock or upgrade abilities.

It's worth revisiting that lab when you get the chance. They offer some cool stuff for your sheikah slate that I didn't realise and/or remember was a thing until way too far into the game.noiseredux wrote:I definitely did one of the lab quests - the one where I had to transport blue flame some distance back to the lab. The lab the other guys are on about is a different one though. If you've done that first lab quest, then the second lab should have been added as a quest point you can select from your question menu, so you can chart your way there if you feel like it.
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
Yeah, that's mainly why I mentioned it - I didn't get things like the upgraded bombs and such until waaaay later in the game than I could have. I think because I didn't revisit the first lab until late.alienjesus wrote: It's worth revisiting that lab when you get the chance. There's also the whole photo album and configurable radar stuff that's probably nice to have as you go, versus having to revisit places to take pictures of things.

I didn't have a lot of time to play last night but I didn't even finish the beginning trials. I made it past the Stone Talus to the point where the lizard people attack you on zone in. The enemy regen is probably the biggest hindrance. The hit and run tactics that I used in normal mode are much less effective. And the fight with the Stone Talus is especially brutal because it takes a little time to climb up him to start damaging him when he throws you off. All the while he is regenerating a ton of health. I burned through all my 15+ damage weapons on him. I used a 5 minute attack buff before starting the trials to get me through the first few rooms but I think I am going to have to farm the parts for 30 minute attack buff food before trying again.bmoc wrote:Last night I got the Master Sword while in Master Mode. Tonight I am probably going to get wrecked in the Trial of the Sword. I think I can probably manage the first and second trials. The final trials are going to be tough.
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
Like everyone said noise, you'll want to head back to the first lab to upgrade the bombs and the Stasis ability. You can stop enemies with the upgraded Stasis+, so if you're quick enough you might be able to get a few good hits on the Lynel before he slaughters you
