Nice write up Clem and I completely agree with you. Though I think a couple of the games coming up like Y's, Night Trap, and Wonder Boy are going to sell out very, very quickly. I've still only got one release but I'm eyeing a couple of those.

So Oceanhorn and Plague Road came out today. Can anyone vouch for either of these as both look somewhat interesting to me. I'm leaning towards Oceanhorn, not sure which system, but Plague Road might be fun as I've seen some comparisons to Fire Emblem. It seems like today is the day to appeal to the Nintendo lover with LoZ and FE type games.

I disagree with the previous argument, and the comparison to beanie babies or sports cards. It is limited run due to each game getting a limited print run
The problem hasn't been how many runs they have released, but some of the games.

Many of these games are sub $10 or $5 indie steam or psn games, and just arent that appealing. The more desirable games fetch a decent price, but the others are just meh games with a physical print run.

Technically some of the games release are not nearly as limited as it seems since other sites like Play-Asia will release the same game. The collectors editions might be different for the ones that offer it. The box art might vary but not much difference other than that. In some cases like Darius Burst the LRG version of the CE was less complete than the Japanese version with 1 less ship and the models were far less quality plastic than the Japanese counterpart at a similar price at release.

I missed out on them today. When I looked at 6 they were all gone. I wanted Oceanhorn. I guess I'll try the download version instead.

I agree with you, clem, about the number of releases they're doing, but while that does irritate me a bit, my elation at the visible support for physical releases is greater than my annoyance at the not-so-limited number of LRG releases.

Damn. Glad I was able to get my order in. No margin for error there....Maybe they should have gone with 10,000 copies instead of 5,000? Granted, that would be a less "limited" run, but given that Panzer Dragoon Saga had 50,000 copies in North American and is still so rare, it would still be relatively limited, all things considered.
