Shinji was kind of a deconstruction of Gundam protagonists. Especially Amuro and Kamille.
Where as Amuro grows and toughens up, Shinji is... Shinji.

Shinji is the more realistic portrayal of what being thrust into that kind of situation can do to someone.
I'm plowing through all of Dragon Ball and Z(Kai probably) because I've heard a lot of good about DB Super and figured it was a good time to finally rewatch.

Super starts pretty slow (better off watching the two movies though you miss a few character development fillers that way) but it's found its footing and gotten pretty awesome.

Yes this anime is really good! It's probably one of my favourites.Xeogred wrote:

Don't let the cover fool you. This is based on a novel from the same writer that did Seirei no Moribito which is a goodie, but I liked Erin even more. Very engrossing tale in a fantasy world, one of the best animal relationship stories I've ever seen, topped off with some good civil war politics in the background. This show really goes places. Definitely gave off vibes of a Miyazaki movie.

Yes!
Check out Erin and Moribito if you want extremely good female leads.
On another note I'm going full blown shoujo again and checking out Sailor Moon. I think I'm going to skip around some to avoid burnout.

Gave Bokurano 3 episodes but wasn't feeling it at all. *delete* Feels like a weak version of Infinite Ryvius or Vifam. And I'm just kind of bored and done with Eva-type mecha shows. Rahxephon is the one that I liked, but otherwise... meh. Plenty of better things to watch.

Currently watching Fairy Tale on Netflix. Very good series so far.

Really wanted to watch some of the original Gundam series after having so much fun with Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, but an English sub of it like DOES not exist, and that seems to be the status for most earlier Gundam stuff I've looked at. Dubs exist, but if we give into that then we've already lost, now haven't we
