^ I will line those people up with Trump supporters. Sub-human.

Anyway. Fans who beg for a new entry or successor to a entry to a series. Fund it on KS then hate everything they see and complain drive a divide between those fans where they end up hating each other. I have seen this for Mighty No 9 (tho yes that was a real fiasco from the devs plus the game being really bad) and now Shenmue fans with III. The fansites bickering over every little thing and doing there best gaf impression banning people for quota. So the thing that kept these communities together is no new games but the hope they would get one. What drove them apart is getting the game they asked for.

Cute discussion here.

Anyone know a way to credit-feed visual novels?

I don't like the idea that video games need to have an end goal, some form of a challenge, and a failure state to be considered "real video games." As if that's some sort of honor we can only bestow on the worthy.

I don't understand why people are so resistant to other kinds of experiences. You don't lose anything by calling something like Dear Esther a video game. Except maybe internet cool guy points with other people who don't like it.

That's all it really means anyway. Everyone who insists on separating "video games" from "walking simulators" (which isn't even an accurate term) always just happens to be someone who thinks those sorts of games are too boring to ever play. Almost like it's a form of rationalizing.
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

I am 100% with you my friend! It is that hubris that drives me wild. Why does anyone think they have the right to determine what is and isn't a game. People need to stop caring about what other people enjoy. If it is something you love as well, enthuse. If it wasn't your bag, just leave it at that.

Not trying to be cool but Dear Ester was both frustrating and boring. No I don't need action in my games. I like plenty of wordless story driven games. Just the ball thing didn't always co-operate and the walking is insanely slow even when running. Nice looking game tho. I would never not call it a game tho. I feel there is more put into Dear Ester as a video game than anything David Cage has done since PS3 era.
