Re: My Collection(lots of pics)
I find a lot of my relatives consider me "difficult to buy for" due to my "obscure" hobby.Ack wrote:I wish my parents understood enough about my hobby to get me something like that...
I told them to take a different tact to gift buying. Either:
(a) stop buying me things at all (I'd rather them not waste their money than buy me a token bit of crap that I'll throw out in a week), or
(b) walk into any second-hand/pawn/trader shop, and buy random old games (the older the better, and most have the year of their publish written on them somewhere). I've explained I don't mind if I get doubles (or more) of old titles, and sometimes even having a few copies is nice. Likewise if they get me a game for a console I don't own, it's just incentive for me to add it to my collection.
Those that have chosen (b) are finding I'm a lot happier (and more genuine) about the gifts I receive now. There's only so many times you can smile and thank your mother-in-law for yet another shirt/socks combo, or CD holder.

Re: My Collection(lots of pics)
i'm going to try and get some close shots of the snes and ps1 games soon
Re: My Collection(lots of pics)
That is one smokin' collection you've got. I wouldn't mind hanging out at your place and playing multiplayer anything.
Re: My Collection(lots of pics)
lol I was thinking the same thing.Ack wrote:I wish my parents understood enough about my hobby to get me something like that...
Re: My Collection(lots of pics)
i consider it a good day if i get socks, and I only got games when it was fashionable to do in the 80's. I don't deserve a hobby in their eyes

Yeah, whatever. Keep rubbing it in, man.Snickerd00dle wrote:i'm going to try and get some close shots of the snes and ps1 games soon
