The BEST ever! & My FAVE ever! (read OP)

I actually thought about flipping them myself. They're both so fantastic that they could be the "best" and "favorite".

I know it's subjective it's all opinion but again it's easy to separateElkinFencer10 wrote:No, Segata, you're wrong. It's not about liking it. If there were an objective "best," it wouldn't be debated.
He gets it.Sarge wrote:I think it might be more of an acknowledgment that our favorite game might have objective flaws that might keep it from being the "best".
Dunno what is with this forum any kind of topic has to turn into some huge debate of what a topic is about unlike a normal discussion where they just go along with a topic.

Semantic discussions can be interesting and meaningful, but your topics seem to invite it more than the norm around here. Also, this happens all the time on other forums. You have some weird ideas sometimes about what other forums are like compared to this one. Other forums are more likely to be battlegrounds with trolls exchanging trollishness.Segata wrote:Dunno what is with this forum any kind of topic has to turn into some huge debate of what a topic is about unlike a normal discussion where they just go along with a topic.

I've said it before. We're a bunch of nerds who like to discuss the ins and outs of things.Segata wrote:Dunno what is with this forum any kind of topic has to turn into some huge debate of what a topic is about unlike a normal discussion where they just go along with a topic.
You could just have a thread of people listing their favorite games, but now you have a thread of people listing their favorite games and debating over what makes a game the "best."
Don't look at debates as negative or derailing but as ultimately adding to the discussion.
If you posted this thread somewhere else people would likely be making fun of each other over their picks instead.

Yep! You made a thread that spawned discussion naturally and that should be a GOOD thing.Gunstar Green wrote:I've said it before. Where is Bone to post Ys on both? Maybe too busy injecting Ys.

Since no one's gone here yet:

Best: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Nintendo, Shigeru Miyamoto, and the whole Zelda team wanted the franchise to thrive in 3D (the new gaming landscape) for generations, so they pulled out all the stops. What we got was a game so good that even the sequels haven't been able to touch it in terms of quality, content, and challenge. (I went there!) The game has its flaws, but one's first playthrough of Ocarina of Time is bound to be eyeopening.

Favorite: Mega Man 5
When I need to clear my head, Mega Man's 2-6 are my go-to games. They're just fantastic run and gun games. Yeah, it's "YET ANOTHER 8-bit Mega Man," but Mega Man 5 has great graphics, fun level and enemy designs, a nice difficulty, and excellent music.
