one game that hadn't gotten mentioned is the super scope 6 cart that got packed with the gun. The puzzle/light gun game with the rotating colored blocks sucked up a huge amount of my young life.

And while I don't know about quality, for some reason a Crisis Zone machine has been in every arcade I have ever been in since its release.

As for light gun games that should never be mentioned again:

Hogans Alley(NES)
Yes, I was gonna say that! All the other games I would have picked have been said a few times now already.

Not one vote for Elemental Gearbolt? For shame! And not nearly enough votes for Point Blank. Hogan's Alley is a favorite of mine, though there isn't a GREAT deal of content. But it's all done so well. The Super Scope may have been awful, but Metal Combat is awesome enough to redeem it.

I bought some older light gun games recently, so I may add to my list later on. I can't say I'm much for the Lethal Enforcer/Time Crisis type of light gun games, though.

Lethal Enforcers, Operation Wolf and T2 all get the nostalgic vote for me. Great memories of my arcade rat days as a kid. (Although technically Operation Wolf used analogue sticks inside the guns, and not a traditional light-gun approach. But hey, that's just splitting hairs).

Point Blank 1 and 2 are up there for fun with the mates. I didn't like 3 for some reason.

I love all Sega light gun games. Ghost Squad and HOTD2&3 have been getting plenty of play time in the Wii.

Starsky and Hutch. That's right, you heard me. This is one great shooting/driving game. It's almost impossible to make any progress at the one player level, but it absolutely shines at the two player level (one player shoots, one player drives). For a cheap low budget game it puts a lot of full priced games to utter shame.

I only had a light gun for the NES, so I'll stick with what I know.

My favorite was Gumshoe. It was unique and challenging and I used to love the music.

The Adventure of Bayou Billy had segments that were played with the light gun, which was a nice changeup from the beatemup style of the rest of the game.

Duck Hunt. Classic.

Wild Gunman was fun if you liked to pretend you were in an old west duel.

Mechanized Attack was cool and a bit of a hidden gem.

To The Earth was ok.

Gotcha! was ok.

Operation Wolf was fun for bringing the arcade home.
