PSX game replacement cases?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

PSX game replacement cases?

Post by Xeogred »

So I stumbled upon some thread about new unofficial Saturn game cases and it got me wondering, is there anything out there like that for PSX games? or just simply a service that'll print off cover art and send a new case or something? I've got several games without the booklet (probably can't replace that) and covers, just kind of sticks out going through my collection.

You'll probably find most of what you need at The Cover Project. Just download and print...

Pick up some standard jewel cases with clear trays, and you're good to go.

I figured this would be easier than the Saturn cases, heh. (wonder if that's the site that has that offer?)

Thanks for the link, now ... just have to hope my printer can handle it.

Some of the PSX games have covers set up for DVD cases. While this won't feel as authentic, it'll cut down on ink and printing costs. How many covers are you needing to print?

Hmm, actually not that many. Vagrant Story (luckily have the book), Breath of Fire IV, Legend of Mana, Dino Crisis 2, Brave Fencer Musashi, maybe Oddworld (I guess, lol). So just 4-5.

Though I just remembered I've never had a case for Shemnue 2 either. Finding a double jewel case with 3-4 CD holders, yikes...

Good time to mention something regarding proprietary cases.

Wii, GCN, Xbox, 360, PS3 and PS2 all had/have cases which have features different from standard retail cases, be it colour, memory card slots, engraved logos etc...

If you go to stores like Blockbuster who take the games out of the cases and put them into rental cases, they will give you the original case if you ask nicely.

I replaced my "Greatest Hits" PS3 cases from the hideous red ones to the standard clear ones and grabbed a few Wii ones too, just in...case.
