How dangerous are downloads?

Post by Kyle »

What do you think how dangerous it is to download Roms? Okay, downloading roms from old systems like Atari and this stuff is not very "dangerous", but what about the newer systems? I'm very uncertain about PS or Saturn Games. But on the other hand, I never heard that someone was indicated, cause he'd downloaded Playstation games :D
What's your opinion?

Kyle, forget the legal complications, you want to worry about the 'flesh eating rom' virus syndrome. Roms will eat you, and they will eat you alive...

Yes, that's quite a nasty one. I, however, found the "penis devouring iso" virus wreaked much more havoc on me over all.

the ps emulator if you download from the official site: http://www.pcsx.net nothing happens but then the games that you download could have virus or something like that

then the saturn nothing happens only on rares cases like downloading from a site full of spyware or virus.

C'mon yall, what a trash thread!

For what little its worth, I've never heard of anyone getting sued for game rip downloads. Seems like I would have seen a headline or something if it happened much.

FWIW I vote not dangerous. There's safety in numbers. "don't believe the hype"
