I'm guessing he doesn't know how old most of us are here. (Kind of depressing to think about, actually. We're all edging inexorably closer to our deaths!)
I would be curious as to why they are "shady***", though. Some of their early years certainly have some... questionable business practices, but a shortage on a fairly limited, one-off product being shady? Not buying it. Especially if it is, as you say, "a plug and play emulation box with a limited number of games". When you put it like that, it sounds like what it is, a fairly niche product that certain fans will want, enough to cough up money to scalpers, but not something that Nintendo should put out in dramatic quantities. Blame it on Nintendo's rabid fanbase, but don't blame it on Nintendo, at least in this case.
If they really wanted to be shady, they'd just jack up the prices to $300 and take all that money from the initial buyers for themselves.

More like staring into the eclipse with magnification involved. The arguments being laid out, about the brute force and intelligence of a bag of hammers.ElkinFencer10 wrote:What a ray of sunshine.
I love his divining powers of the future. Ms Cleo is looking for some new tele-psychics for her hotline.
He didn't assemble any word play to call him an asshole, but considering how hot he got about it clearly means it struck somewhere because it read to him as being one. I can't say I'm surprised.
And woo he had a NES longer than many people so he's some kind of an expert beyond being corrected for a mix of history and embellished idiocy. Awesome! By his logic since I got one of the mythical 1985 systems when it test ran that must make me some church of nintendo guru. Bow before me!

Bows before the great tanooki god.

That actually has me curious, when did everyone get their NES? I was actually a little late to the party, getting mine at Christmas in 1990. Still got it, but it needs a recap because the composite video has started crapping out.
As for my SNES... well, I still use the same one I found in a yard sale all those years ago. I think that would have been 1995.

Probably 1989 or 1990 for me. Despite being born in 1987, I was somehow playing the NES when I was 2-3. I can't really comprehend how I was doing that haha. But yeah I remember playing SMB1 before SMB3 was out, then when SMB3 came out it was a huge deal and a birthday or Christmas present when I turned 4. Even had a custom Mario cake and everything.

I think I got my own in 91. Two of my cousins had them before me and I played the crap out of them. Before that we had a 2600 though.
