Re: SNES Classic coming September 29th
What's even the point of a SNES Classic without Shaq Fu? Serious missed opportunity there.

Wasn't a SNES controller already released for the Wii? I have one.
Maybe, but I never bothered buying a classic controller for my Wii because I felt it was too expensive for 2. Now 2 will be included in a package that I want with games I have never experienced.
I bought one of these: https://www.engadget.com/2009/02/19/wii ... al-public/
Definitely worth it for my Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, FF III campaigns.

I dont live on the West coast, but would find it funny if people rallied outside Nintendo of America for a protest
. Seriously no reason for Nintendo to make these limited, they gotta be making major bank off them anyways.
If Atari and Sega can keep their crap all in one consoles on the shelf all year round, no reason Nintendo cant.

I have my brothers aftermarket snes controller and boy does it suck. Can't even move and have to press hard on the buttons to do any attack

That would not surprise me. There has been enough stalking store people, threats, screaming and yelling thanks to the first. Now that there's the precieved concept of being screwed and hard by the SNES one despite Nintendo's words it could very well turn really really ugly in places. Like some classic in store/parking lot Tickle Me Elmo brawl.
Re: SNES Classic coming September 29th
As I've said, I DO want one of these and even signed up for a couple alerts. I WILL purchase one if I get a proper opportunity (and replay FFIII/VI for the umpteenth time, hopefully with a nephew sharing half the characters).
...but, I already see the writing on the wall. I will miss the nonexistant ordering window and they will all be sold out except for the price gougers (which no one should pay on principle).
So, like the Classic NES, I will soon have a Classic SNES folder on my softmoded Wii and call it good (will be looking for the completed Star Fox 2 eventually). I even have one of those mayflash SNES controller adapters (which does have lag, but works well for the RPG end of things).
As someone else already intimated, thank you Nintendo for alleviating my worries about the moral uncertainty of piracy. I await the day that you finally understand the retrogame market and offer us something that is both obtainable and provides us a value that the hackers don't.

I like your attitude about it and the response at the end is a nice captain obvious level of cherry on top. They're begging to have people rip their stuff off and use other sources when they intentionally don't supply enough materials to a willing audience.
I'll have a Super Everdrive in my hand this week, doesn't solve the Starfox 2 issue, but outside of that it will be quite handy stepping back from the pool.

Yeah, it's just I don't understand why they even bother releasing the thing in the 1st place if they can't deliver. I keep hearing that they "learned from the NES Classic", but I just don't see it. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Super Everdrives really are a great option. There's a lot to be said about having the right hardware experience for the games (which is why I tend to be picky with emulation options). Assuming you have the right TV and/or hookup options, it doesn't get any better than playing on the actual system.
I do prefer the SD2SNES, but I will eventually devote an Everdrive to Rom hacks and Translations (and a small selection of favorites).

I hope I'm off about it too, and really I'd put it at 50/50.
Nintendo seems to intentionally go in waves of shorting people, then doing the opposite so people don't get even further furious. Wii was short, WiiU wasn't, handhelds of the DS/3DS variety were the same. So I figure maybe with so many people wanting to physically harm scalpers and verbally drill sgt style dressing down their phone people and local retailers maybe they'll produce enough before retail tells them they don't want to carry it to avoid the time wasting abuse.
I couldn't justify that much on a SD2SNES because it delivers nothing the other does too. I really do hate Mega Man X2/X3. I liked the first ok enough, but I felt it ruined the blue bomber franchise and took it down a path that was really stupidly setup and annoying which X2/X3 went well further into. Since there has been like 3-4years of promising FX chip and SA1 looks written off, I just have any purpose owning it so I'm glad the options it there.
